**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

At least no one's rioting tonight. #Positive

Plenty of things I wanna say about the players, coaching staff and more but like you said, #positive.

Good news is we lost, bad news is PHX won't stop losing :smh:
Man I just want one more PHX win, is that too much to ask?

They got the Nets next.

Stat lines looking kinda shexy. I don't think we're that far behind a team like the wolves as far as individual development

They got the Nets next.

I read a stat on Twitter today that BK started 1-25 but they've been 5-7 in their last 12 games.
They're still the worst team obviously, but they aren't the embarrassment they were earlier the season. They've been playing better :smh:

PHX bout to have Lopez look like Wilt

Suns are as bad on the road as the Nets are at home.. It's actually a pretty evenly matched game at this point

I can't believe we've had 3 straight lottery picks, two of them being #2 picks, and we're still this bad.
Are we just victims of bad draft classes to pick from? (Outside of KAT)

sixers and wolves have strong young cores and they arent exactly reaching the playoffs

True. Lots of bad luck injury wise too.
Another top 5 pick this year and Simmons back and it'll be fun the watch.

Well when you don't get the transcendent talents in those drafts it's going to be bad. Young doesn't win in this league though, never really has. But some people actually thought we had a chance to make the playoffs. And we've subsequently gotten rid of the best player on the team in Lou so these beatdowns are going to keep coming.

It is somewhat concerning though when you look at a team like the Sixers for instance who are for the most part at least competitive most of the time, even without Embiid and Simmons. Wolves are also competitive, just can't close out games.

Sixers are older and more experienced. You look at saric who is 22 and has been a pro for years overseas. Similar to zubac except he just started getting court time like yesterday and was only 19 up until a few hours ago. A guy like Covington is 26, McConnell 24, rich Holmes 23. They're supposed to be better. None of our core starters are older than 22, I'm excluding jc who just got his 2nd start of the year. You're basically in disbelief that our young players aren't playing like vets in their 1st and 2nd full seasons

All those guys except Saric were on a team that won 10 games last season. And the majority are 2nd year guys as well except Covington.

I'm wondering though, what made you think this Laker team was playoff caliber before this season? You had to have thought they'd be playing like vets to make that prediction no?

And how many games have they won without embiid this season? Again I said older AND more experienced meaning college, overseas and pro including their coach.

Go back and watch games from November for your answer. But my prediction was based more on how bad I expected the west to be in general moreso than how good I thought this team would be. And even despite all that they were still within striking distance as late as January after catching the injury bug in December and only managing 2 wins. And I never said they would or expected them to make the playoffs

They've won 13 without him.

How many games have we won without Lou Williams?

And the bottom of the West still is really bad.
Now you didn't say the Lakers wouldn't make the playoffs? [emoji]129300[/emoji]

So basically the sixers improved by 3 wins. I said the lakers would be in the mix and I specified that was around 10th seed which they were for most the season. Now I might've gotten too horny when they got as high as 7 seed but I don't remember you being so vocal back then.

I believe my preseason prediction was 23 wins.

Even when we were 10-10 I was I said it was fools gold and the record was misleading.

And what's that quote that the weirdo Boston guy brings up by you every time the Lakers get blown out?

I believe you also said we'd be better without Lou correct? We're 1-12 since the trade.

I don't know what that fool says. All I know is I said around 10th seed before the season. Even if I had said it would only be for 2 and a half months people would still look at me crazy so what difference would it make. I doubt if I said we'd be better without Lou, you're thinking of someone else. I know I said repeatedly that we'd have a lot less wins without Nick/Lou and called them our best players this season.

Bottom line is you said it's concerning that the sixers are competitive without Joel and Ben and it turns out they're 3 wins better than last season with a core and coach that's much older and more experienced.

When I say competitive I mean being in more games this year in general being in more games. They got guys who are older in age but the majority of them are 2nd and 3rd year guys like ours are. You thought we'd be in the mix for a playoff spot in a better conference yet not them with "older and more experienced" players, why?

Man what? Their 2nd and 3rd year guys are 2, 3, 4 years older than ours with more college and overseas experience and a coach that's been uploading his program for several seasons already. You really think that's the same thing? You're dying of thirst right now trying to one up me or something and doing your usual shuck and jive thing where you end up all over the place.

2nd year Sixers:
Jah-21
Holmes-23
TJ-24

2nd year Lakers-
D'Lo-21
Nance Jr-24

3rd year Sixers-
Stauskus-23
(technically Embiid)-22
Noel (when he was there)-22

3rd year Lakers-
(technically) Randle-22
Clarkson-24
Black-25

I'm not seeing this huge age and experience gap your claiming that exists.

Saric and Zu would be the only big difference and if Simmons played he's only a year older than Ingram.

Oh God you're still typing. First you say hey you said they'd be in the playoffs. No that's not what I said. Then you go hey you said they'd be better without Lou. No, that's exactly the opposite of what I said. Now you just keep reaching and reaching trying to salvage what exactly I don't know by misconstruing everything I say. You have a good evening sir

The Sixers won 10 total games last year and have 26 wins right now, where the **** are you getting that they're 3 wins better than last year? Not only do we have 16 more wins already, but last year and the year or two before that we were getting BLOWN out by a lot of teams. This year, besides the win difference, we've shown we can at least compete with anybody. And this has been even without Ben all year and Embiid for most of it.

Our starting lineup right now consists of two rookies in Saric and TLC, Covington, McConnell and Holmes. Our bench is Okafor, Justin Anderson, Stauskas, Henderson and Sergio. Where are you seeing this tremendous advantage in veteran experience?

He's giving Embiid the credit for 13 of those wins so you guys are only 3 wins better without him than last year so far. But as I said the roster construction is very similar to what the Lakers have all the way down to Robinson/Covington, Sergio/Huertas, and Bayless/Henderson and Deng/Mosgov.

And I said that you guys are more competitive as well.
