**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

More fluff pieces about a dude who's outta here in a season. Good to see Julius getting that body fat down though. Magic coming in with the iron fist.

I can see the Nets or Bobcats offering him 4 years/$75 mill . We'll see where things go with him next year. If his defense and 3-pt shooting improve he could turn into a real force. I'd trade at the trade deadline for a mid-first rounder next year if possible.

Wow. That's so nonsensical I can't even imagine how you think trading Russell for a mid 1st rounder.

We were talking about Randle. That's all we're gonna get for him. He's about to get expensive and unfortunately his game doesn't fit well with the modern NBA. He can't shoot and he can't guard multiple positions.

He's only 22 brah

There's still room to grow... This is gonna be a big year for him

Ahhh. Mamba's fluff piece comment was about Russell. So that added to the confusion.

Him getting paid doesn't impact getting anyone by the way. If by then you don't have that guy or 2nd guy in FA, it's not going to happen.

Also that trade is likely a taking a few steps back move. He improved a good amount in Year 2.

A guy who can easily get you a double double & is extremely good at running the floor as a big man, has no purpose in the league now

the source from the espn article http://www.basketballinsiders.com/2017-nba-consensus-mock-draft-ver-5-0/

I’ve been told by someone in the know that the Lakers are “increasingly open-minded” about trading Jordan Clarkson and to not be surprised for him to end up being moved as soon as draft night. That’s conjecture at this point, as the Lakers need not rush to clear what may appear to be a logjam in the making.

ehh open-minded about moving isnt that close to shopping

The ESPN headline I saw said "shopping". If they're exploring trading him by draft night, then that means they're calling around to gauge interest and assess his value. That's called "Shopping"

It depends on who's calling who first. Making calls = shopping, listening to calls/offers = open minded

I've been told
By someone else
Who knows some other guys
That THEY are open minded about.......

I'm not sayin it's impossible, hell, it might even be likely, Clarkson is more expensive than DLo/Ball combined, and he's older, does kind of make some sense for them to move him while his value is a little higher, but listening to any ESPN hack, especially these days where all their good talent has been let go and all the loud voices are left, naw. Pay it no mind for now.

Again, not sayin it's impossible, but far from trustworthy sourcing right here with the I heard from a guy that knows another guy that feels like......etc etc.

If we could unload Deng with trading JC then I am for it.

I am ready to admit he is not the next T-Mac. :wow:
