**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

DLo opting out is a disaster for the Lakers by the way.

Got a wedding rehearsal today, but I’ll break down the numbers as to why later.
Don’t worry about it bro…

*We know we can’t fill his salary slot out right if he walks.. hopefully he opts in and is traded, but best for both parties if we end this experiment yesterday.

Wouldn’t be able to sign and trade him without shedding some of the middle salaries first as salary dumps. Because they’d have to stay below the apron to be allowed to make a sign and trade.
False. You can sign and trade someone away without having to shed salary. It's only when you receive a player via sign and trade that you get hard-capped and may have to shed salary.

Leads to the point of not being able to do a double sign and trade.

And also teams looking for DLo won’t be trading the Lakers useful rotation players.

It honestly doesn't matter, he doesn't have really any value around the league anyway which is why he had to take the one year deal at a lesser salary as well as not get the veto trade clause which is usually a staple in those type of deals.

In the sense that we wouldn't be able to aggregate that salary slot in any potential deal sure that hurts, but they're going to have to do an overhaul anyway which includes multiple assets and players (AR, Rui, Vincent and Vando, picks are all on the table) to make the splash they are going to try to do. Atlanta already didn't want D'Lo at the deadline, that's not going to change in the next 2 months.

I blame Mitch and Jim for drafting this Dlo-wn in the first place and making him an NBA player. He couldn’t blow by Boris Diaw his rookie year. I remember!

Magic warned us he was immature and it still rings true even this far into his career.

Btw the Sparks new talent was in the arena last night and gyaaatt Cameron Brink is some PRESSURE jeez.

I remember shortly after the Warriors were eliminated from the play-in, their fan base was up in arms about have Trayce Jackson-Davis didn’t play much and that was why they lost… let’s be better Laker Nation and not do the same thing with JAXSON FREAKING HAYES man.
