**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

i mean the guy is 100 years old. he cant be a two way player all the time anymore.

re minds me of my goat pf chris webber at the end of his career. he was still offensively effective but very bad on defense
I understand... just being honest.

How do you think the next Laker's coach should handle the elephant in the room situation w/ Lebron and his defense?

D'Lo's possible exit could/should allow him to be hidden further. Kinda like 2020 (he exhibited more effort that season) when he was surrounded by good defenders besides Rondo.

The total salaries of :
Rui, Gabe, JHS, Hayes, Reddish, Max Lewis & 17th pick (120% rookie scale) is $41.891mil.

Gotta grab 2 guys that have 2/3 versatility. Or 1 at the 2, and 1 at the 3 for under $32mil

That would allow themselves to be able to use the TPMLE of about $5mil for Andre Drummond. Anybody outside of him are huge risks at that exception if you're expecting real contributions, and they can't afford any misses (*cough* Gabe Vincent & JHS *cough*). As well as room to fill the last few spots with other minimum contracts, a 2nd rounder or UDFA. All while staying under the 2nd Apron.

Only issue is that it would mean they have no room to add salaries during the season because they will be less than $1mil away from the 2nd apron.

Christie and JHS have to give us SOMETHING going forward.

And if they try again for a 3rd......if not Trae or Murray, Mitchell could be nice but 4 thru 14 would be SLIM again. So if those two not included, they'd need to really step up.
