GET OUT -- New horror film about black man meeting white gf's parents. Looks creepy.

One thing that I found interesting that may not have any significance was the blind man wanting Chris as a host, with his occupation being a photographer yet the flash of a camera being a catalyst for the OG consciousness to take hold. I wonder if he knew that cause one would think at some point you taking pictures a flash is getting reflected at some point.

The experimentation was a work in progress. With each subject they were getting closer to perfecting it. The whole flash thing was more than likely unforeseen and something to be addressed in later subjects.

Hope they make a sequel or prequel to this movie. Would like for them to elaborate on this "Order" and how far their reach extends.

But Andre was taken 6 months before Chris and one would assume that was the first time they even knew the flash effectively broke the hypnosis.

Man what a movie...had me on the edge the whole time. I saw the signs well too early. I would've been out once I saw grand pops running that first night.

Chris was a cool brother but damn he got lost in that sauce and couldn't get outta there.

Idk it's was a lot of signs...I would've been out after pops tried to press him about smoking

Just got back from watching .....Bruh, that was terrifying. It was scary because it was real. I definitely relate :smh:

I'm glad they highlight the role of the white female. That goes unchecked way too often when discussing racism. I also noticed how there wasn't any use of the N word. Too many people think (racial slurs) that's all there is to racism. It's way deeper than that. It's an entire system deeply rooted for generations.

Oh and shootout to Redbone by Childish Gambino playing in the beginning. Perfect song choice. Stay woke :smokin

This movie was brilliant and the story line was refreshingly terrifying. I hate Jordan peele as a comedian but his future looks bright as writer

Did Andre not have to do the "party" phase? where the neighbors look at the prospect. Maybe they already had a buyer for Andre?

That old woman he was with already had her husband transferred to Andre. He might not have done the party phase cause of the crazy brother.

That makes sense. Seems like the bro just wants to brute strength knock them out and drag them in but the parents want the whole process that's why they were so upset at him at dinner for trying that ****.

I'm thinking they're alluding to slavery in that once upon a time they used to enslave you through brute strength and just kidnap you, but now they opt for a more nuanced psychological slavery, ie the hypnosis.

Just got back from watching it. Kept a safer than usual distance from all white people on the way back to my car from the theater, and I'm not even black  The movie was :pimp:

The helmet and the white car metaphor :wow:

That's either a Michael Jordan, Space Jam reach or Peele is a genius

#4 is one of the few things that I think hasn't been discussed in here. Makes perfect sense too and I honestly didn't connect that. Of course any clinking of a spoon against glass is going to trigger the hypnosis once you've falled under its sway the first time. It's programmed into you.
