GET OUT -- New horror film about black man meeting white gf's parents. Looks creepy.

After they hit the deer... notice there's Blood on Chris' Headlight of the Car..... WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

And the dad says there's a bunch of Black mold in the attic

Yeah i pointed that out to my wife during the movie i was like how did they manage to hit on the far side of the car ONLY .. didnt put much thought into tho

Good discussion in here so far. I'm going to see it a second time tomorrow with my brother. These interpretations are reminding me of AP English in HS

Just dope that on the surface, it's a really good horror / thriller film

But on my magic johnson ****, it also serves as a figurative, and literal representation of how Black Men are valued in our society.

They see our value as nothing more than our bodies and genetics. The literal representation of taking a white brain and putting it inside a black body is mindblowing yet accurate as hell. The whole D1 athlete thing she was doing, that's really all we're worth to a lot of people. Our physical attributes.

So from that perspective, job well done. Great film. Exciting, thrilling, thought provoking, all encompassed into 90 minutes. Just awesome stuff.

Movie is crazy
Loved it.
So many subliminals and ****...
From the bingo style "slave auction"
To the way that the dad was explaining his hate for deer "another one dead, another one off the street" is parallel to the way that whites see Black ppl.

Now what's this talk about the blood on the headlight? Someone explain please?

The milk scene was also symbolic. A lot of Black folk are lactose intolerant.

And the cotton scene. Slaves use to pick cotton. And he picked the cotton out of the couch.

The deer head scene. We spoke earlier about how the father sees deer=black ppl. So think of the deer head on his wall as a trophy equivalent to the head of a Black man. Similar to how Shorty had the pictures on her wall of her and her numerous black men...also as trophies. Keep that 3rd eye open beloved

As far as Andre not having to do the party process. It's prolly cus they already knew what they wanted him for. He was a jazz musician, they wanted him for his musical talent

How do you know they didn't do the party and bidding for him? Most likely did

(Sorry for the consecutive posts) but also...peep how the blind dude claimed he wanted Chris for his artistic eye...and that it "doesn't matter if he was black"

See this as the white folks who claim that "they don't see color". Son is literally "blind/COLOR-blind" yet it doesn't matter cus he's still aiding in the hurting of a Black man

I doubt it lol, how they gonna kidnap a dude then bring him home for dinner? I'm sure they did bidding, but idk about a party ....or maybe they did a party and he left early :wow:

Bit of a reach on that one

Another thing...peep how they capture the struggle of shaving while black. He shaving with a disposable razor and then touches his razor bump that he just got. He's using a WHITE shaving cream

The shave struggle is real [emoji]128514[/emoji]

Black men need that electric shave not razor

I really dont get this point you guys are trying to make with the deer and the blood on headlights.

So they hit the deer with the one side of the car, so?

It could be a slight foreshadowing with how meticulous we've seen Jordan been so far, but likely another reach.

I don't think many of these things in the movie are subliminal but rather references.
POC catch all these references because we know what's up where it might fly by a casual white viewer who isn't purposely looking for these references.
I really enjoyed the movie and how it evolved from a comedy to a mystery thriller to a straight up horror film. Shot nice, great lighting, editing on point. Def haven't seen anything like it before and excited to see more from Jordan Peele

Damn I feel slow. I completely missed this one while watching.

It's just foreshadowing that something bad is going to happen...

The blood only covers up his headlight...

Also watching TV & doing nothing all the time is what illuminati want us to do.

What about the fruit loops scene. Colored (fruit loops) separated from the White (milk). Not wanting them to even mix. Subtle but a powerful scene.

Peele said in an interview that the fruit loops scene was just to show weirdness not to symbolize racism. He said people are reaching a bit with many of the scenes lol

I thought it was just her being crazy too, and OCD with the 3 sips of milk, but that's what's great about this movie. It seems like a lot of what you take away from the scenes symbolically, is partially dictated by your own experiences and views.

Some were obvious like the father's rant about their being too many deer and they're taking over the population. Maybe that further becomes a symbol of his own racism and ironically the tool Chris uses to kill him with later

There's also an, I guess unintended, disassociatedness there. Like her boyfriend is literally down in the basement being killed and harvested for his physical attributes (used), and she's just upstairs eating some cereal. Kind of like society, even the woke-est of them, not really that concerned with our struggle.

Fruit Loops also is a synonym for crazy so there's thay.

Could also be an adaptation to enjoying cereal she learned so as not to wake Walter and Georginia from her Grandparent's since clinking a spoon on a bowl is the trigger to release them from their sunken place.

I also took it as to mean she's basic, bland, like some may say white society is when they're not stealing aspects of others' culture

Also, Georgina was opening the little closet door, Grandma was unplugging the phone. That's how I took it anyways

Everyday i feel sorrier and sorrier for Peele who is gonna have an even harder time trying to make it in hollywood as people overanalyze this movie and push the racial narrative much further than he ever intended or anticipated.

The whole internet "woke" idea is gonna put him in a corner and scrutinize anything he does...

Key and Peele took shots at racial relations consistently and it was all fun and games....

Now we gotta Polight Jr's writing dissertations on the symbolism of the teacup china which is representative of the chinese railroad workers in relation to the underground railroad and the model minority arguement that people use to compare the success of asian minorities to the lack of success of the black community

stay woah'd
