I got on my girl for that exact thing yesterday  She was trying to be all philosophical and analyze every aspect of the film to the last detail and I had to tell her that, yeah, it's possible that X-thing was intended for X-message, but Peele himself has also said that some people are looking too deeply into it. This film's already going the way of various anime, books, and games, where the fans take **** to an entirely different level than the creator ever intended

I believe it. Same happened with me and I'm assuming others too. They said they never saw a commercial or anything for Get Out.

I wonder if it would be different if Get Out wasn't race related.

This is going to happen to me today. I feel it.

My older white coworker is going to ask what I did over the weekend, I'll tell him I went to see a movie, when I tell him what the movie is about, he's gonna brush it off or go into his "white people experience racism too" bs that he does.

Dude is mad ignorant when it comes to racial topics.

If you can't own up to or at least acknowledge that white privilege does exist your just as racist as those clowns prancing around in white hoods

Exactly. But of course he won't see it that way. This same dude had the nerve to say that he was racially profiled by a cop (who is also white) because his hat was backwards. And he pulled the "I'm not racist, I have black family" card on me before.

I usually let all that ish slide, but it's Monday and I'm not for it this morning. If he doesn't wanna discuss the movie, cool...I'm not trying to hear that ignorant mess though.

Movie was great on so many levels.

Captivating as ****, with a message.

Classic man.

Cant wait to see it again.

Nobody in my office has been incredibly weird about it. Everyone just didnt want me to spoil it. I think a few of them will see it more as a movie as in 10000% fictional more than recognize the themes present in it though.

The scene with Maxenne where the funny friend reports his friend missing and even shows a photo of Andre who has been missing for 6 months and she not only blows him off, brings in 2 more guys to laugh at him and then reading in comments that 100k black men go missing every year (thought that might be high) prompted me to look it and according to this site, in 2014, 240k minorities went missing. This link is as recent as last month, says 30% of 900k so that's 270k but still just black people not black men. Still somewhat relevant to the discussion of the movie's obviously fictitous plot and that scene.

Think I'm going to go see the movie again.
Legit the most captivating/dopest movie I've seen in a long time.

It's always catches me off guard when I hear actors/actresses being interviewed and they speak with their accent
Crazy how well they hide it when they're acting.

I have a few coworkers who told me about how they'd had similar run-ins with the cops in the past. Not necessarily for missing people/kidnappings, but going to police officers for anything and not being treated seriously. So, I thought that was an especially good addition to the film. Though, of course, the friend was a little over the top in his descriptions of what was going on

According to Todd Matthews of the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, or NamUs, most cases of missing persons are quickly cancelled. Of the 661,000 cases in 2012, only 2,079 were still unresolved at the end of the year, and the number of cases generally decreases each year.

Same here  before I had really knew about his background, seeing an Idris Elba interview for the first time surprised me

If you say so

There are as many as 100,000 active missing persons cases in the U.S. at any given time. Of the 692,944 people reported missing in 2010, 531,928 were under the age of 18. According to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), 355,243 women were reported missing in 2010 compared to 337,660 men.Nov 20, 2016
