Wrestling Thread January 1st / Happy New Years NTWT Weekend Edition

Cena v Styles (SS)
Shirai v Satomura
Okada v Ishii
Omega v Goto (G1)
Revival v DiY (Brooklyn)
Nakamura v Sami

My favorite matches from 2016
But, when Ibushi vs Alexander happened, you were calling it MOTY

And when I said you were a #PrisonerOfTheMoment , you cussed me out

:rolleyes

Kurt Angle says AJ Styles is more athletic than HBK. Would y'all agree?

I'd say yes.
Pointless comparison.

Both are ELITE athletes for their time period.

The stuff HBK was doing on the US Scene was groundbreaking, the same way AJ's offense during his time was.

Just always easier to say the modern athlete is more athletic but we don't factor in modern medicine and training activities today's athletes benefit from

Rob Van Damn was so athletic.

I think of the elite flexibility and strength. Also his jumping ability.

When I think of ATHLETES, I think of RVD.

The RVD Lift is still impressive today

he was born into the wrong era bruv, he was then what wrestling is today, and he wouldn't have had to kill himself

RVD was my favorite guy did ECW. It sucked seeing him look washed in his last two WWE runs, just robotically going through his spots on til the match is over

I remember watching One Night Stand 2006 at my buddy's house, Cena vs RVD for the title. I was 16 years old and a huge Cena fan (still am, don't hate). The match was good but the crowd made it amazing. One of my favorite RVD moments ever.

RVD vs Jerry Lynn is one of the greatest feuds, in ring wise, of the last 20 yrs..

That was a really good match.

I was amazed by the crowd as well.

I don't think he was washed, probably the first of the watered down talents to have to limit his performance to stay on schedule
