Lucky *** guess. I'd have a said Packers and probably caught the L asap.

My mans married a chick who comes from a family that owned like 10 McDonalds. I remember he was out here with the broads for a long time but as soon as he got her he chilled out. Said the money was too long. He ended up skipping law school and working at McDonalds until he and his wife could buy one a year later (the money was THAT long)

Lived in Dubai for two years, and crazy displays of wealth were an everyday occurrence there.

The neighborhood we lived in (Al Safa 2) had a lot of wealthy families living there. One of the families built a 28-car garage at their McMansion.

Oldest son went to ASD, and I would occasionally drop my son off early, to see the vast amounts of kids being dropped off in 911 Carrera GTS', gold plated G-Wagons, various Lambos, AMG Coupes, etc...

They have a yearly week-long car event, where exotic cars trade places with the normal taxis to take you to your destination.

My barber told stories of his clientele that paid upwards of $1200 for a regular haircut (he would complete the haircut at their private residence).

Summers are painfully hot there, and local Emirates like to ship their car fleet to Europe to enjoy, while on 3 month vacation.

Rich Dubai or Saudi arabs are strange folks when it comes to wealth. They give zero damns about spending and will pay for anything to increase their status.

I've sold some instagrams and other social media to arabs and they pay ridiculous prices just to make sure nobody else will outbid them.

In terms of reliable customers, there's nobody I'd rather deal with than arabs (provided they're legit and not trying to scam you). They always get straight to the point, don't bother lowballing and are pretty easy to negotiate with. Put an instagram up for sale for $500, kept getting $100 offers and an Arab swooped in and immediately purchased it full price and we completed the deal right after. They also pay tons for 3 character snapchats and 1 letter usernames on instagram etc.

They'll easily pay up to $10000 for a 1 letter instagram like A, B, ... and over $1000 for a 3 character word snapchat like Fun, ...

A contact of mine sold a Saudi Arab a 1 letter instagram for nearly 10k and the buyer simply bought it to give to his brother. Then he later bought another 1 letter for himself. The guy would post pictures of tigers, lions, ... in Ferraris etc.

At least one of the 1 letters and probably the other one too were hacked by other Arabs and now he has his first name on IG, for which he also paid a lot. https://www.instagram.com/saeed/

I'm not sure how much this guy spent on social media usernames since I've dealt with him but it's gotta be at least $30000 that I know of, probably a lot more than that.

Those dudes are wild over there.

they pay hella money for the tags on their cars as well. The lower the number on the tag the more they paid for the tag.

Like their tag number would read just the number 5.

Exactly. The same applies to social media for them, they have some kind of obsession with how low character length and the exclusivity of short usernames. For example with snapchat, the minimum amount of characters a username can have is 3.

Nobody initially thought snapchats like AHG or any random 3 character combination would hold any value, but rich arabs started requesting them and buying them for $250 and upwards while the values of actual word snapchats were still lagging behind. A friend of mine made loads of money by jacking dozens of 3 character snapchats and selling them to arabs for $250 and up. Nowadays the prices of snapchats have increased significantly and can go over $1000 for real word minimum character length usernames like Fun, Big, Law, ...

Generally the shorter the username and the more exclusive, the better for Arabs. Even if the name has no meaning like those random 3 character snapchats. Something they especially pay a premium for is short repeating character usernames. For example GGG on snapchat, FF on instagram, ... They will pay a lot more than non-Arabs for those.

Most non-Arabs put a much higher emphasis on meaning rather than character length and would pay more for something like "Astronaut" on IG than a random 2 character username.

Despite being in that business for a few years now, I'm still not quite sure why exactly these wealthy arabs have such a particular interest that's different from just about everyone else. The vast majority being either from Saudi Arabia, Dubai or Qatar.

In roulette money comes and goes quickly. All he would need is one of his numbers to pop once or twice and he'd be good

8 is a lucky number in china, a rich dude bought an 8 license plate for a stupid amount. another rich mogul bought his phone number to only be 8 (or however long chinese phone number go for like America its 7 numbers).

I remember coming across while on a friend's IG feed that someone she personally knew had the name "mom" or "mother" straight up. I was amazed but my friends don't think like I do. exclusivity on the internet these days. everyone has handles now and yet even when we're born and given a name we can choose a new name that can go on as long as we do. @Colombia is pretty amazing for just having the country as his name but bet you can't have that name outside of NT :lol

I initially had my nickname "Void" on NT but when Yuku or w/e changed I lost my login info lol. So I picked Colombia based off a Young Scooter song I really liked at the time :lol I don't use social media much but generally I own unique handles I like on the platforms I use. I'd like to pick up a nice gmail at some point but haven't really spotted anything on the market I really like.

Kik: Void

Twitch: 50 or Vanguard, mainly using 50 as a business partner gave it to me

Skype: Dimension

Gamertag: Donor

Snapchat: Create, formerly owned Magic but sold it for $400 after a guy kept insisting on selling it to him

Had all of those for a long time now, only one I paid for is a small fee for Create. Not a big fan of actually spending money on a username, I'd rather obtain it myself or trade something I own for it if I really want something.

IG: Don't actually use IG but sold some good ones I like such as Astronaut, Koenigsegg (the luxury car brand), Bigkrit, Merciless, ...

Recently sold the name of a luxury shoe brand (red soles to give a hint) to a social media agency and also obtained the name of one of the biggest soccer clubs (@Tottenham) so that'll fetch me a good amount of dollars too.

Mom or mother would go for a good price on IG, at least $500 I reckon. Generally speaking, every valuable username on every valuable social media platform is taken. There's various ways in which people obtain them, the most common way is rather obvious and involves stealing the account.

For IG, I use a custom built program that continuously scans my list of usernames for availability. IG has a policy of randomly resetting instagram usernames after long inactivity, allowing them to be registered again. My program automatically grabs a username if it pops up as available, so that's how I obtain my instagrams. No account theft involved.

There's actually a pretty wide availability of usernames on the market as I am far from the only one who does these kinds of deals. And at the end of the day I'm just a small fish in a sea where people are making serious bank from this. Obviously the big earners go to much further lengths to obtain usernames than I do. That ranges anywhere from social engineering, filing a false trademark claim on a username, photoshopping a death certificate to obtain a specific username, a connect who works at IG, hacking the email attached to the instagram or even extorting the owner of a username into giving it to them.

Example, note how one guy has several expensive IGs listed for sale.

This is the recent thread history of an acquaintance, one of the big earners

friend of mine's parents risked it all and put money into buying a Popeye's chicken spot. owns like 4 in my area now and a KFC I think. dad bought a Lamborghini 2 years ago. Dad balls out like indian gold dude from a few pages back with his wrists gleaming (they are indian too by the way). anyways check my boys snapchat and apparently Popeyes had their own convention where all the big heads in Popeyes were there celebrating themselves for a good year or whatever:lol. my boy took pics with the actual popeyes chick that's in the commercials. looks real good. it was down in New Orleans obviously haha

Well I had a lot of medical bills and got stuck at home due to chronic illness so a US friend I met through xbox/twitch introduced me to the social media market and we started up a business partnership from which I learned a lot and made a few thousand dollars from. It's technically not really 100% legal income but when you're physically unable to continue higher education or work, I had to find a way to not only keep myself busy at home but to support my mom with the bills. Thankfully I can do that now as I'm a reputable and well establisher dealer in the market now, having been at the top of both the Twitch and Kik username market. On top of helping out my mom, I also have an excess that goes to my savings and leisure purchases for myself.

In terms of grabbing usernames on a new social media, it has rarely ever been worth the effort. Snapchat was the exception where a lot of people grabbed usernames and the app took off obviously. Most people don't really bother and think it's a waste of time unless they sense real potential in a new app. But like I said, 99% of the time those apps don't take off to the point of having value. Snapchat and Kik are the only relatively new platforms I can think of that hold value, and they've been out for a few years.

Also, username deals are between 2 private individuals 99% of the time. It's not that common for companies, artists, ... to purchase usernames. It does happen but rarely. I can name a few examples such as the state of Israel buying their twitter username @Israel for a very large sum. True story.

The actor who plays Carl in The Walking Dead, his real name on IG was sold for 10k. Energy drink company Monster also bought @Monster, I think it was on twitter. Someone I've dealt with did that deal.

If companies or agents contact username sellers it's usually smaller companies. If a large company wants a username, technically they can file a trademark claim and get it but even massive corporations have gone against that conventional wisdom at times. Deals with companies are generally with social media agencies who operate social media pages for profit as their business, or smaller companies/celebrities who want their ideal username. For example, I sold @L**b**tin (censored so it doesn't show up on a google search, common practice in our business) to a social media agency in the UK. That same company expressed interest in purchasing the soccer club @T*ttenham from me as well.

I had also initially struck a deal with Big Krit's manager to purchase @Bigkrit off me but for whatever reason he stopped responding and we didn't finalize the transaction. I had asked for a framed album artwork autographed by Krit himself as I'm a big fan, and the manager agreed to that after some negotiating but when I provided the login details for the IG he stopped responding. So eventually I took back the IG and sold it to someone else for a few hundred. Either way it is now in Krit's possession due to a trademark claim. So in a way I got Krit's artist name on IG for him, indirectly. :lol
