Mobile is boring as hell. The best part of it is that you're near the ocean/beach, which equates to good seafood and lots of partying near the beach, if you're into that.
And try to stick to the city areas. Alabama is a weird, scary place for a black man when you venture outside of cities.
Been here for 10 years in the most "progressive" city and I still get uncomfortable in some of these country *** towns/cities surrounding the city.

My girl went there for college and I went to visit several times. Decent town, some good restaurants, but didn't seem like much to do if you were actually a resident there. You're close to New Orleans which is fun as hell
