No secret, appearing to be smarter and more sophisticated will get you further in life. So I'm going to throw it out there.

Choose better words. Insert these words into your vocabulary, not ten thousand dollars words by any means, just fancier than their lay counterparts.
Select (instead of choose. Poor people choose, rich people select)
Directly (pronounce it DIE rectly though, people be like :wow:)
The (thee not thuuh)
Inform (inform, don't just tell)
Ubiquitous means it's everywhere.
Insidious
Diatribe
Unintelligible
Unable
Shenanigans
Adulation

Speak slowly

Enunciate Quit being lazy and skipping syllables and sounds that Mother Teresa intended to be in the words when she invented them.

More syllables the more the better, and hit them the same way Drake or Nikki Minaj hits heir punchlines; enthusiastically.

If you'd like me to use any of the above in a sentence just let me know.

Since I started talking this way, I got a promotion and everything, and it seems like people just regard me on a higher plane when all I did was sub in some bigger words and not combine words into contractions (mama'n'em). I feel like this practice is going to take me places.

For serious

Honestly though...this isn't terrible advice. Your delivery is like 60% of the battle.

If you speak with enough authority you can you can really see a difference in how people deal with you.

Now, if you aren't actually educated and just trying to plug words in here and there, they might deal with you differently because they think you're a little slow.
