"If he’s out for an extended amount of time, the team is just going to have to ride it out."

as if Ian is going to cure our team of its woes. He will be a help i think because it really can't get much worse from a defensive bench production stand point. But he isn't gong to make us THAT much better.

We have no rim protection. Team needs to see what Ochefu can do or make a run at Larry Sanders.

Hard to disagree w/ any of this:

John Wall is on an island, and help doesn’t look to be on its way anytime soon.

Wall, a three-time all-star, is having arguably the best season of his career. Wall is currently averaging 23.6 points, 9.6 assists, and 2.1 steals in 36 minutes of action per game; all team highs. If I had told you this prior to the season, one would assume that the Wizards would at least be a threat in the very mediocre, Eastern Conference. Instead, the Wizards are just 9-13 and are struggling to beat some of the NBA’s worst teams. Yes, the Wizards have won six of their last 10 games, but that’s just a band-aid for the Wizards current and long-term problems.

Outside of Wall, Bradley Beal, Otto Porter, and Marcin Gortat are also having career years. Gortat has turned into a double-double machine. Beal has upped his scoring to 21.6 points per game and has stayed healthy for the most part. And Otto Porter has improved in nearly every statistical category and looks like the next player in line to receive a max deal at the season’s end.

Four Wizards players are having the best seasons of their respective careers but that’s where it starts and ends as the rest of the roster features average to below average players including a couple of guys who even NBA junkies forget are still in the NBA.

Instead of riding the momentum of the 2014-2015 playoff teams, Wall, in the seventh year of his career, is surrounded by one of the worst supporting casts in the NBA with even less fan support to speak of.

John Wall has earned the right to demand change in Washington

dare I say Bradley Beal has played up to that contract thus far in the season? I'm just worried about the minutes him and Wall are logging

Anyone else cringe whenever Oubre drives straight at the basket, jumps into a vertical defender, and forces up a bad shot through the contact?

For such a young and athletic player he lacks lateral movement and he's very predictable with the ball.

$64 million...

Ernie should be fired off the Mahinmi signing alone. I wish there was a large fan contingency that would chant for it during games but we can't even get enough people in the crowd as it is

That might be the only contingency this team has prepared for.  They've long had to pipe in crowd noise to make it seem like most people are cheering for the home team.

If they can drown out all the Knicks or sudden-Warriors fans in the TV broadcast, they can quiet a Grunfeld protest.

This is all we got, fellas:

The problem is that only the diehards who follow this team (or the NBA) actually care about the employment status of Grunfeld. I've said it before, but EG is lucky he works in a market where the Wizards are an afterthought. He gets no flack from the press and in his 13+ years, or however many he's been here, he's been treated w/ kid gloves. We got knowledgeable people here in this thread, the NBA thread, and a few other message boards on the net. If our vitriol was pumped into the VC every home game, I guarantee changes would have been made a long time ago. But this is the problem when your arena is 1/2 filled, and most of those fans are only there to see the opposing team or get free chick fil-a. There's a MAJOR problem with the Wizards that goes far beyond the product on the court.

Washington, New Orleans among teams reached out to Denver to gauge availability of Will Barton, league sources tell ESPN. Exploratory now.

Names I've heard floated around in a possible deal include Burke, Sato, and Morris...

The bench needs a big shot in the arm, but I shudder at the thought of what the team will ultimately give up to get Barton. Probably disregard another 1st round pick and get fleeced in the deal...because, #sowizards. That's just how we roll.

Weird to say this, but the bench was on point tonight...good win. Wizards slowly digging themselves out of a hole.
