I don't think that loss will be a heart breaker for THIS team. The grit they play with is interesting. I've closely followed as a bit of a closet fan since John was drafted and like JJs said...something about this team is different. Idk if Jamal is the answer for the bench since he's pretty inefficient and a minus defender but....a scorer does make them the clear cut second best team in the East. If they already aren't honestly

Proud of the way the team battled last night. There is no quit and the competitive fire is right there. It took an out-worldly shooting performance from the Cavs, punctuated by the miracle 3 by Lebron to get out of DC with a win. Even though we lost, I can live with the circumstances from last night. No reason for the guys to hang their heads. They went out on national TV and proved that they can play and are, IMO, the 2nd best team in the East. As Methodical Management Methodical Management pointed out, they have a very tough stretch coming up, so it's going to be important to win at least 6/7 out of the next 10 games.

One thing that's obviously apparent is the absolute need for scoring off the bench. I don't know what EG will try to pull off, but that second unit needs some serious help. I think we'll be priced out of the Will Barton sweepstakes (they'll most certainly ask for the '17 1st,) but maybe someone like Jamal Crawford would help fill that void.

I also heard an interesting point someone made on the radio today that I never really considered (in regards to attendance.) The Bullets/Wizards haven't had a top-3 finish in the conference in 40 years or so. There really hasn't been a reason for folks to come out and support the team when they've been awful for decades. That being said, this Wizards team seems different. It's like they actually know how to play basketball. It's been a long time coming, but hopefully the crowds continue to come out to VC and embrace the squad.

Junkies right? I was listening to that same segment and the caller who mentioned that point. I was at the game vs. the Lakers and I was absolutely disgusted at the amount of people booing John Wall at the free throw line.

Am I surprised that it's usually 50/50 or 60/40 when big market teams come to town? Not really, as that caller pretty much nailed it.

I was however, really surprised at the amount of support we received last night at the phone booth. I hope VZ continues to support the Wizards.

Yup, on the Junkies today. Not saying we're Golden State by any means, but there may be some parallels as far as attendance (haven't looked at the #'s) before they became elite.

Wizards franchise, save for a couple of seasons here and there, is the epitome of ineptitude. This is reflected with the attendance.

I dunno, man...this team just seems much different. Like they actually know how to basketball  Hopefully they can keep their health.

Right, man. I feel it too. We need a contributor off the bench in the worst way.

That Jason Smith block on Felder

Outside of Oubre/Smith, we get next to nothing. Starting 5 playing HEAVY minutes out of necessity. EG has to fix this.

So so many "Wizards fans" on my TL yesterday lol
We need to have a questionnaire for them

1.) Fill in the blank, "Where's the ____??!!??"

2.) What was the channel the Wiz/Bullets were broadcast on before CSN

3.) Where were you when you found out Chris Webber had been traded?

4.) Finish this infamous MJ quote, "We ____"

Ernie has gotta go if we wanna compete on an elite level for championships with teams like Golden State, San Antonio, and Cleveland... It blows my mind why management hasn't spent the last 5 years building a foundation around Wall. Brooks is obviously a step in the right direction but we are 1 elite player and a strong bench away from truly becoming a contender.

any other options for some bench scoring?

Jamal Crawford and Derrick Williams? We just banking on Mahinmi coming back and providing a spark? (defensive spark )

People are definitely paying attention on a National Stage. Espn has been giving them their due justice

Bruh. That legitimately just started happening this week. Wall is not getting the golden boy promotion a la Steph or Kyrie or heck...even Zeke in Boston and/or Kyle Lowery at times.

I know Russ and Harden are having great years, but Wall is someone with a unique skill set (speed) that is fun to watch.

Heading to the game tomorrow and I concur, it's just good to look forward to a game with the team having realistic opportunities to Win.

Was at the Cavs game (first game of the season for me) and still shocked at that damn 3... Aside from that, great effort. Truly was a playoff atmosphere.

I went to a Wiz/Lakers game back in 2012 and it felt like at least 70% of the crowd were Lakers fans. We got the W though :pimp: I chalk it up more to Laker Nation being deep everywhere.

Gotta give Scotty credit. I dont think we got better personnel wise this past offseason but our core is playing lights out. Otto is really coming into his own and Oubre is hustling out there.

I'd like to go to more games but getting there is a ***** after work plus it aint exactly cheap in the 100s section  I'll be there for the playoffs though.

I'll give Brooks a hand as well...was not a fan of hiring him (mainly based off the KD connection and I still like to see fresh blood get a chance when the same old retreads are not working). He has been 100x better than Randy at drawing up plays out of timeouts that get buckets or at least make sense and put guys in the right spots to get a good shot if executed correctly.

I like the progression Oubre has shown and Otto might be a Most Improved Player candidate.

Starting off 3-9 was rough, but he is slowly making an impression on me for sure. Always nice to have winning basketball in the District.

Credit to the Wiz for treating the Cavs loss as a minor speed bump, they've picked up right where they left off.

In these blowout wins do you guys think Brooks is playing the starters too many minutes? No reason for both Wall, Morris, and Porter to all play 30+ minutes tonight in my opinion. Seen it happen in a few other big wins as well, don't want them to be burnt out down the stretch and into the playoffs.

i think that is all of our worry. Like its nice that we are winning and playing well...but can Wall and (more so) Beal stay healthy and keep it up going into the playoffs.

Its sucks but if either of them gets injured we are done....0% chance at anything this season

shows just how bad our bench is. None of the reserve guards can be trusted to hold a lead unfortunately. Burke is the worst passing/offense running PG i've ever seen, Sato can't shoot or dribble so he serves no purpose out there and Oubre is a train wreck whenever he has to put the ball on the floor. I'm praying they make some kind of move for a solid 6th man guard because these guys just don't have it night in night out.

A lot is due to this, but as bad as they are they still could've played the final 5-10 minutes and closed out the game no problem. Not that 5-10 minutes is a lot, but with the way they've been playing and blowing some teams out, those minutes can add up. Was very surprised to see Wall, Porter, and Morris still in around the 6 or 7-minute mark.
