Is getting in the resell game worth it?

So before we begin, yeah, I know resellers are scum and the the worst part of copping.

So now that we have that out of the way, I'm looking for something to invest in and have fun with and I haven't paid much attention to sneakers or hypebeast gear lately to know if it's worth investing. How much does knowing people really matter? I'm interested in hearing some pros & cons, preferably from current resellers, but all comments are welcome.

I personally don't think so. Only flippable shoes are Yeezy's and I doubt anyone can really get a plug for those.

I used to think reselling was lame when I first joined NT in the early 2000s as a high school kid. I then grew to adopt the capitalist mindset. Buy low and sell high is the name of the game, be it real estate, stock, etc.

Like stated I would only do it if you have the means to get pairs at retail or near retail and the only shoes that are worth it are Yeezys. Even this is questionable because the two latest drops don't even hit a grand on the after market anymore.

If you don't have the means to score pairs then you can't get in. Go peak at those threads and you'll see dudes are running scripts and doing everything under the sun to get a pair. It's not like you can just log on and cop on release date to flip easily.

Factor that your primary targets are hype beasts that will file chargeback for nearly anything, be it a 1mm tear on the shoe box or whatever, I personally wouldn't do this as a viable income source.

Covers all the bases right here.

Right now it is my main source of income since I am still in school. Is it worth it? That depends on who you ask..

If you have a good career and a family, then probably not soo much.

If you're a college kid who could use some extra cash. Absolutely.

I don't even sell new releases it isn't even worth it, and trying to obtain yeezy's is literally like playing the lottery unless you got a plug.

I mostly sell trash *** **** thats just super low on sale or hyped up random items, Selena Mac collection for example.

Resell doesn't only pertain to sneakers just so you know, Everything is flippable.

I'm actually kinda curious about this myself. Just last week I was telling a dude it's not worth it but a hustle is a hustle.

I have thought about flipping Kylie or Rihanna make up

Selena was a goddess here in Texas.

Random : if she would have died j lo wouldn't be as famous

The resell market aint like what it was 5years ago honestly. Everything is over saturated with yeezys, nmd's, and random adidas sneakers. Not a reseller btw this is based on my observation through the years. Imo, if youre looking to get into the reselling market now, good luck because you would need a "plug" for all those kewl adidas shoes.

Think about this. 5-6 years ago, ppl were camping out for jordans and they instantly sold out (sometimes by midnight) now we have to enter raffles via instore or online. How often do you have "luck" compared to camping out? Now jordans are hitting outlets. Where has the time gone? Good thing i was NEVER in the market for jordans

Gotta have connections or people at stores aka backdoorinf and paying extra on each pair

If you're not getting the hyped shoe of the week early, there really is no point these days IMO. Once release day hits, your chances of making decent money plummet.Of course Yeezys will always bring in money, but most resellers don't eat off hard to get shoes like that.

Don't try to resell that KENZO x H&M Stuff

Unless its super cheap like the Sunglasses and the Tee Shirts. And maybe the socks.

I still got alexander Wang x HM stuff LOL!!

Success in reselling really depends on knowing the product really well. Ideally it would be something you buy for yourself and therefore know the market. Knowing whats a good deal and generally what people pay for things. You can do the research on just about anything but if you're not interested in it, it will be a chore. Also, buying at retail and selling above retail like yeezys or jordans is gonna be way more limited in scope as opposed to buying below retail and selling below retail.

My wife is making a killing off reselling beauty products she gets for free/heavily discounted.  She spent a few hours last week chatting up the ladies at a salon she frequents and came home with 2k in tax free cash.  My mind was blown.

Beauty products are real moneymakers--women will buy anything that they think will make them look better/younger.

Bout to get my Mac knowledge up

When Twitter/Auto add to cart bots were around and relevant, the answer would be yes. These days, as most have shared, the market and demand has changed so much.

My newest "hustle" has been DFS on DraftKings specifically.

Yes and no. It's a vicious cycle basically. My friend buy fsr of shoes from outlet and retail stores and sell at flight club and makes 2g minimum per check. You make good money but you have to put out a lot of money also and it takes time too since you have to sit on some shoes. My friend tried to put me on but I don't have money like that to max out my credit card. I will only sell my extra pairs that I planned on keeping originally but sold because I wasn't going to wear it in the long run
