Houston Rockets 2017 Preseason Thread - Spurs MyPlayers Take Over

Our "MVP" about to quit on us

Lmaoooo

Some fantastic play from them starting when they were down 72-81 (or something like that). The boxing out was great and they grabbed a ton of offensive boards. Can't look it up right now, but they probably had more second chance points tonight that any other game this season. They were getting out-hustled but turned it around at the right time. Everybody was contributing on both ends. Pretty much shut Richard Jefferson out after he was scoring on them early. Nene was excellent on switches, really came up big late. Great statement game here :pimp:

Great game. I like that intensity Bev plays with.
Harden with the triple double

im done with JH MVP talks. the fact that he has these spells of not even trying in the midst of us trying to shape up for the playoffs is pretty sad. dude doesnt deserve MVP regardless if he averages 40 points for the rest of the season. If he played with actual MVP effort on both ends, he could really make us actual contenders despite our issue with our interior.

He can score/assist in his sleep. Just read an article about how he says he's never tired. Something isn't adding up. Either he taking off on defense or he's lying about not being tired.
of course he gets tired he leads the league in minutes consitently he his our offense he has only missed one game in 3 yrs and that's cause of suspension you need to relax no one can be the focal point of the offense play that long and not get tired

 I need a violin. He has other players to take the offensive load off him. Nh. If he doesnt conserve energy properly enough to play better defense across the entire game, be more efficient, or whatever it takes to take his game to another level, that's on him. He should be walking away with the MVP imo.

and half the time the reason he's "shouldering" the offensive load is because he doesnt want to do anything else. We have guys that can score, penetrate, dribble. but we get crippled at times without JH facilitating 10000% b/c he won't cross half court without having to have the ball in his hands.

He's easily one of my fav players, and I love the level he's taken his quarterbacking, but tbh - Im not impressed. I've felt he could be a high level scorer/facilitator since OKC. Now it's about working on the parts of your game that don't come easy and I'll hold him to the fire like every other tier 1 player to play in the NBA

Yea there's no way in hell Harden doesn't get tired  it is clear he gave up taco Bell crunch wraps

It's crazy how important Ryno is to this team

I mess with you heavy Peep, but I think we dig our own ditch with that reliance. That live/die by the 3 level of inconsistency cripples us. I'd rather have a 4 that is a dog on both ends of the floor on the interior, but can hit the open 3 as well.

I don't need Ryan Anderson post spin, stepback combo 3s..because he's not even hitting those (or taking them) at a high rate. He's hitting wide open assisted 3s from a facilitator that's on the court 90% of the time. Dude is replaceable.

I do agree with you, I was mostly saying that cause usually when he's scoring, we win. I don't necessarily like that due to his style of play (would much rather have Milsap in his place), but as the way the team is constructed now, that's just how it is. He NEEDS to have anywhere from 13-15 points every game for us to win.

Harden was a plus 23 in today's game and it was a such close game impressive stuff

Yea harden can def play off the ball more especially with Lou now and he should be more consistent on d but these crticism has been going on forever

There isn't a lot of 4's with toughness and can make 3s in the league right nown

JH is definitely important. We need him on the court a lot, but his +/- is also a product of literally controlling the ball every single possession. If he allows others to do more creating, they'd be better (and have better +/-) when he's off the court.

and I agree about the criticisms....difference is we had a trash coach, stagnant offensive system, no obvious plan on defense, not many shot creators, bad shooters shooting a lot, ...etc.

In one offseason, we filled like 90% of those holes so JH can't use those excuses anymore. imo. this is about as good as it's gonna get for him, sans maybe one more significant player upgrade.

kinda false imo, there's a bunch of randos.

Not lights out shooting, but serviceable. Don't need lights out though, especially if its a guy who can make one move to the hoop, shoot midrange, or do literally any other positive play.

It may be pretty unlikely though when contracts are considered.

Well when he was off the court I'm pretty sure he was letting the others control the ball and they let cleaveland eat up the lead

that's why you share the ball over the course of time. you can't hoard the touches then say here, go produce. You need reps.

(speaking in general here.....again, i like heavy JH touches, but its a fine line he needs to figure out to make his team better)

you don't "let" others control the ball when you're off the court though. You have no choice . I'm saying he should figure out how to differ better to focus on other things over the course of a 48 min game

I can't name 5 at around Ryan andersons price range

I know we love Dekker round these parts but we gotta upgrade him for the playoffs. Casspi does everything he does but hits 40% from 3.

Casspi the first go around was horrible here.

I agree it was bad, but dekker giving brewer a run for his money as far as shooting.

He 32% from 3 on the season and 25% post allstar break. He shooting it's getting lower each month.

Casspi the first go around was horrible here.

His latter tenure was. He was similar to Francisco Garcia, exceeding your expectations initially, then once you expected that same effort and play, they went down the tubes.
