Gordon and Anderson are going to shoot the Rockets in and out of a lot of games. I'm willing to bet more out than in. Seems they've been given the green light to jack at will. mean.gif

I'd be ok with those shots if they were actually set up and not just come down and launch. There were times when Gordon had and open lane to just drive for a layup (which he did several times early in the game) but instead he shoot from 4 feet outside the 3pt line. Only the first game, but some of these lineups were just weird. I don't think in crunch time you should have a lineup that has no type of rebounding when that's exactly what you need. With Capela being gassed, Harrell should have been out there in spots, as well as Daniels.

Look at these Laker stats. With a modicum of defense played, at least 4 of those guys shuld never score that many points.

This too laugh.gif but definitely more KJ and Harrell in relief of Capela

Since you have to know what your enemy is thinking along with your own stuff, here's how the Mavs are scouting us

Nene is out for tonight. I mean, I expected him to eventually be injured sometime this season, but Jesus, not heading into the second game. Logically, that should mean Harrell would play some center behind Capela. Logically.

Any 6'10"+ 240+ pounds FAs out there??

Chris Kaman, Kendrick Perkins, Nazr Mohammed... don't think they're on any rosters. That's kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel though. They would just be space eaters and nothing more. Mohammed would at least provide a defensive presence.

Yikes. That's an awful list of centers LOL. I would rather them take a flyer on some near seven-foot D-League guy than try to get any one of them.

And guess I was wrong about NeNe being out, they must have listed him active 10 minutes before the game started or something LOL

I really hate these types of games. Rockets have had so many times to break away and build a lead, but they continue to give leads up

That's definitely the Ariza that needs to show up more often. I don't expect him to score like that AND be one of the only ones playing defense, but he can't have games where he is just a footnote on the floor

Ditto to KJ, you can definitely tell he is confident out there. As far as Anderson, I just think tonight was a bad matchup, but he really should be more of a factor. I'm still meh on Ennis even though he's young and inexperienced. He made some goofy plays, but he played some strong defense later in the game.

Will have a proper update tomorrow, just glad to get the win, even if Harrison Barnes gave us buckets sick.gif

This whole minimal defense thing currently makes games more difficult than they should be. Deron Williams was scoring way too easy. I know he's been playing better since the end of last season, but he's still a 32 year old Deron Williams that's looked mostly mediocre since 2012.

First half was good and way more fluid than the second half. They really got lucky, and Wes stupidly fouled Harden late laugh.gif the first half had a lot of activity both on offense and defense, and Anderson was actually managing to grab a good amount of boards.

Not surprising:

The Houston Rockets will not pick up a team option on former Syracuse point guard Tyler Ennis for next year, meaning Ennis will become a free agent after this season, according to Houston Chronicle beat reporter Jonathan Feigen.

BTW, as Rockets pick up '17-18 contract options on Capela, Dekker today, will not on guard Tyler Ennis, source said.

— Jonathan Feigen (@Jonathan_Feigen) October 31, 2016
Houston could have locked up Ennis for next season at a price of $2.7 million. Instead, Ennis will have to prove himself this season and earn his next contract.

He is getting that opportunity so far this season. With Patrick Beverly out with an injury, Ennis is serving as Houston's primary backup at point guard to James Harden. He has played in all three of the team's games, averaging 12 minutes, three assists and two turnovers.

Houston's decision was not particularly surprising. The Rockets reportedly considered waiving Ennis before the season and trying to bring him back at a lower price tag before deciding it wasn't worth the chance it would lose him to another team.
