Would yall entertain Melo on this team in the future?
I'm asking b/c of what Phil supposedly? said about him not being a part of the knicks' future
(I don't really mess with Melo as a 1st option or trying to jimmy for a 1b option, but he's an elite scorer....if he could buy into the D'Antoni/Bearded system, I'd consider him an upgrade to Ariza? Ryno? His defense can't be much worse than Ryno's)

Nope. Ariza has lost a step but he's still an above average defender.
Ryno opens up the court for everyone. Him shooting 30 footers makes it damn near impossible to close out on him

I totally agree with Ariza being replaced but ideally you would want a 3 and D player next to James.
Melo can shoot 3's but not at the distance Ryno does. Ryno routinely shoots from 5 feet behind the 3. Gordon does this too, but he not nearly as effective as Ryno

I feel like this extra step or two behind 3 is gassed. Stretching the floor isn't just about chucking from deep imo. That's part of what gets in trouble sometimes imo.
I rather have a guy who can shoot deep, put it on the floor, stay on the glass, be active, strong, rebound, etc. etc. Melo simply can't pass, but that wouldn't be an issue if we're just asking him to shoot clean/open looks in our system

I want HOU/OKC to be boring as **** tomorrow. Build a massive lead and leave no stone unturned. Want this game to be just like the Bucks/Raptors. A comfortable win, great play all around, then back at it again

Exactly. We know Russ will get his, but there's nothing more disgusting than having games being impacted by Victor Oladipo scoring 20 or Sabonis even adding 8.
