Houston Rockets 2017 Preseason Thread - Spurs MyPlayers Take Over

Some excellent shooting tonight, but they're giving up some easy baskets, it's like they get comfortable and let the Kings back in somewhat and give them confidence

That early lead was basically enough to put them away. The Rockets never let it get to under 10, so that was a good thing. Even in a slump of a game, Harden still managed to get a triple double. Really impressed by how Clint has been looking lately. He's gone up against a handful of good centers and has pretty much gotten the better of them. Bev is fitting right in with the offense, and even though he's not putting up astounding stats, his impact on the game is very noticeable. The bench played well, just want to see them be consistent from game to game. KJ seems like an odd man out again, and that shouldn't be the case, even if Brewer has played alright in some games.

Side note: Gordon's shots :x :x I didn't realize the amount of shots he'd take here. When he's on, he's a stud, but when those shots aren't falling, it's disgusting.

Was thinking we should trade Capela too, but he's coming along nicely.

great bounce back win..crush the bottom tier teams as we should

Dekker continues to impress

and Capela also

Brewer played dece too… Our bench is getting better and better with Nene/Gordon leading them..

^the stats up there, Im surprised we are ranked high up in rebounding…seems like rebounding was our weakness, but numbers don't lie i guess

Very good game last night. The Rockets could have let things get out of hand, but they stayed the course and stepped on the gas late. The bench really shined too, or better yet, Eric Gordon shined . Didn't even notice Bev only scored once, but his hand-prints were pretty much all over the game. Great to see Ariza having consistency with his shooting as well. Was also nice to see Harden not play 38+ minutes. If Gordon can stay healthy and be consistent like that, that'll do wonders for Harden. Can't say enough about Capela's development either. He's been looking great these last few games against a variety of centers and bigger PFs.

With his 9-of-12 shooting on the way to a career-high 21 points on Sunday, Rockets center Clint Capela took over the league lead in shooting percentage, making 62.3 percent of his shots this season. That was not the part of Capela's performance that was most surprising, which might say a great deal about his rapid, early-season progress.

Capela, who relies on athleticism but not physicality, was hit with a flagrant foul in the closing minutes for wrapping up Trail Blazers center Mason Plumlee on a drive.

"Yeah, he's got that nasty streak in him," Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni joked. "Obviously, he didn't mean to do it, but it looked like it."
Capela said he was "surprised" by the call.

"I didn't want to let him score easily," Capela said. "I know he's not a very good free throw shooter. I got surprised it was a flagrant foul. They said I didn't play the ball."

Plumlee made 1 of 2 free throws and D'Antoni had no issue with Capela's play or progress.

"He's just playing better all the time," D'Antoni said. "He's hitting his foul shots. There's been a lot of improvement. I think he'll keep on growing. He's only 22. He can be one of the better centers in the league."

That was rough, especially since there were two times where the Rockets would make a run to close it under 10, only for it to explode again. Capela's hot streak ended. A lot of times guys would drive to the basket and there was just no way Gobert was letting anything through. I figured Utah's 3 point shooting would cool off, but I was very wrong. Just one of those nights. everything Utah was throwing up was going in, whether open or contested. Sucks. That GSW/DEN back to back will be brutal. Need to take one of those games. Doesn't matter which.

So George Hill is out tonight and Rodney Hood is questionable. Sure could have used that two nights ago heading into this Warriors game

Nene supposed to be out tonight. Not for an injury or anything, but more than likely for rest, and the fact that he's old and GSW is not a match-up for him. Harrell supposed to be getting a lot of minutes tonight

free Harrell

Loving how they look so far. I also like how there weren't any miscellaneous techs, silly avoidable fouls, or hacking involved to slow the game down
