Houston Rockets 2017 Preseason Thread - Spurs MyPlayers Take Over

Seeing how I have to be at work at 6am eastern. I don't know know how much of a 10:30 tip I can see.

If these dude knocked down more shots he would of had like 25 assist

I was joking about us scoring 130 a game to win with this no defense but this really may be the truth

Didn't watch but sounds like we let one slip.

This is exactly what happened. I knew this game would be one of those close ones when it was too much back abd forth late. The biggest gaffs were the Lakers missing 3s only for us to give up putbacks. That happened multiple times in the third and fourth quarters. Anderson and Nene aren't rebound guys even with their height, so with Capela not being all there with his conditioning, we had no rim protection. Dont know why Harrell didn't get inserted in cause he can actually play above the rim even though he doesn't have their height. I also didn't like some of the 3s Gordon took late. More plays should have been set up instead of that. Didn't get much offensively from Ariza, Dekker, and Brewer either.

The positives were Harden obviously, KJ's activity, Capela's easy points, and having a generally fluid offense. It just got stalled late. We were stuck on 112 forever yet still had multiple possessions to make something happen. Those putbacks after Laker misses ruined the whole night though. I dig the Lakers have youth and talent and are not handcuffed by Kobe anymore, but that is still relatively the same team that didn't win 20 games last year, so that's still not a team you lose to. To go along with the rim protection, we let Mozgov get very easy points. The score ended up 120-114. I'm very sure Mozgov got 4 easy buckets where it looked like we only had 4 guys on the floor.

Gordon and Anderson are going to shoot the Rockets in and out of a lot of games. I'm willing to bet more out than in. Seems they've been given the green light to jack at will. :smh:

I'd be ok with those shots if they were actually set up and not just come down and launch. There were times when Gordon had and open lane to just drive for a layup (which he did several times early in the game) but instead he shoot from 4 feet outside the 3pt line. Only the first game, but some of these lineups were just weird. I don't think in crunch time you should have a lineup that has no type of rebounding when that's exactly what you need. With Capela being gassed, Harrell should have been out there in spots, as well as Daniels.

Look at these Laker stats. With a modicum of defense played, at least 4 of those guys shuld never score that many points.

 before our home opener

Gordon looks so good off the ball with Harden, hopefully he can stay healthy for us this season

MDA gotta play KJ more minutes, idk why he stopped playing him. He should be getting more minutes than Corey Sewer smh

Nene is out for tonight. I mean, I expected him to eventually be injured sometime this season, but Jesus, not heading into the second game. Logically, that should mean Harrell would play some center behind Capela. Logically.

Any 6'10"+ 240+ pounds FAs out there??

Chris Kaman, Kendrick Perkins, Nazr Mohammed... don't think they're on any rosters. That's kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel though. They would just be space eaters and nothing more. Mohammed would at least provide a defensive presence.

Yikes. That's an awful list of centers LOL. I would rather them take a flyer on some near seven-foot D-League guy than try to get any one of them.

And guess I was wrong about NeNe being out, they must have listed him active 10 minutes before the game started or something LOL

I really hate these types of games. Rockets have had so many times to break away and build a lead, but they continue to give leads up

gg fellas

Mcdaniels def need to get more minutes

Felt like ages ago since Ariza had a great game. Game ball goes to him

Anderson not looking like an 80 million dollar player smh

That's definitely the Ariza that needs to show up more often. I don't expect him to score like that AND be one of the only ones playing defense, but he can't have games where he is just a footnote on the floor

Ditto to KJ, you can definitely tell he is confident out there. As far as Anderson, I just think tonight was a bad matchup, but he really should be more of a factor. I'm still meh on Ennis even though he's young and inexperienced. He made some goofy plays, but he played some strong defense later in the game.

Will have a proper update tomorrow, just glad to get the win, even if Harrison Barnes gave us buckets :x

man where's all of our rockets fans?
