Houston Rockets 2017 Preseason Thread - Spurs MyPlayers Take Over

kinda sad. when you have these games in your hands like this (JH). and inexcusable now that we have a chance to win pretty much every game we play if we play hard. also sad to watch Bev play like he does and see maybe 1 other guy give the same effort. Dudes just trying to get off 3s

Trez looks disappointing, but dude has been rotting on the bench (and I'm not exactly sure why)

and yes to Lou Will PnR. I guess we value his spot up ability more when he's on the floor with Bev?

Lou is small, but at least he moves his feet and gives some type of effort. We can't just say switch everything if we aren't prepared to deal with mismatches.

The Bev blown layup

Looked liked something straight outta high school

There's various momentum changing moments in games, and missing that layup stymied the momentum we had. A 2 point game turned into a five point game. Won't harp on the bs foul calls that the Jazz kept getting the benefit of, but more what the Rockets didn't do themselves. Falling behind early, blowing layups both due to Gobert's presence and simply missing them, and not playing defense for the entire 24 seconds. So many possessions where they were right on the money playing D, then someone gets left open on the perimeter or a backdoor cut. That on out of bounds play with 2 seconds left on the shot clock...Giving up a dunk. That garbage was embarrassing. Two good wins against Memphis and LAC followed by two very disappointing losses, both of which were winnable. On the road against Chicago then at home against The Cavs. If this goes bad, you can have the Jazz not only tying you, but passing you.

I'm at the point where I'm accepting that we're first round fodder. Only team I think we can beat is Memphis and that's because their wings are atrocious.

I'm coming around to Memphis, but I do think we can beat OKC and LAC as well. At this point the Jazz are the lone team I don't want to face.

Outta the teams in the playoffs, the jazz are the worst matchup for us. They have multiple wings who can score and Gobert turns in to Bill ******* Russell against us.

Only reason I worry about OKC is they're probably the best offensive rebounding team in the league. We don't bother to rebound let alone box out.

True about OKC, but I can see a series with them where Westbrook shoots his teammates out the game multiple times. Before the last Memphis game, they were just like the Jazz to me, but after that win, Memphis exposed themselves as not nearly being that tough hard-nosed team they portrayed themselves as. The Rockets treated them extra regular. And I never believed in the Clippers even when they were the hot thing a couple weeks ago. They'd have to be in the WCF up 27 with a minute left before I trust them. The Jazz are more of a matchup problem for the Rockets than the Spurs tbh
