Houston Rockets 2017 Preseason Thread - Spurs MyPlayers Take Over

Win tonight would be huge. Series could easily be 1-1 right now. Hopefully we can continue to force bad shots by russ and keep him away from the free throw line.

That, and hopefully road Ryno shows up. I'm just glad that Rockets haven't been solely relying on 3s. Seems like MDA set in their heads to get into the paint if there's a slump from the perimeter early. the 3s have come more naturally so far.

Missed opportunity to steal one. Not mad at Harden going for the win there either. Westbrook's teammates played their hearts our and still had a chance to get beat. No moral victories, but I feel like they can win this next game, then close them out at home. It's very important to get rebounds and second chance points though. Capela and Nene got us nothing, and Bev didn't have his standout defense like the previous games. One thing that should change though is when Lou Will gets the hot hand, keep him in there. Felt like he was taken out sooner than he should have. Gotta recoup and get a win.

Oh yea, forgot to mention they probably wouldn't have to struggle and fight with OKC if they didn't get down 13+ points early. That takes too much energy when you're having to different yourself out of holes like that.

Yeah that slow start **** has to stop. We ended up with more offensive rebounds, but I swear it felt like they got like twice as many as we did. Every time we needed a stop, it seemed like we'd get one, but then they'd get the offensive rebound and end up scoring on a second chance opportunity.

The thing I'm worried about is I think all of okc's role players are actually decent. They just never get to get into the flow of the game since Westbrook is always going for his own numbers. After all the criticism russ got after the fourth quarter in game 2, he seemed to go out of his way to get his teammates involved and that's why they shot so well. Hopefully we can do a better job of containing them and making russ force things more.

The outside shot just hasn't been falling. We ended the game with 10 assists as a team. Harden also has to be careful with the ball in the first. His 4 or 5 turnovers in the quarter are one of the reasons we were down so big early.

Not mad at coach for not calling timeout. Got a decent look, but it just didn't go down. After all those years worrying about tmac disappearing in the fourth quarter during the playoffs, it's a blessing to have a star that actually gets points and makes plays with the game on the line.

Oh man those early TO's were annoying, it's like Harden and Ariza dipped their hands in butter before the game started. Those were terribly careless possessions, mostly unforced turnovers.

And I actually do think OKC has a handful of bad role players, or at least mediocre ones. Norris Cole hit 2 3s and hadn't been a factor in a game since he was on the Heat. Grant and McDermott shouldn't be doing anything either when they can barely even get on the court.

Actually surprised we had a chance to win it with the way OKC shot it.

Andre Roberson has made 6 3's while shooting 50% in this series. He shot 24% in the regular season. That's crazy.

They should be running him off the line. His release is slow and terrible

What is Roberson's series average, like 15ppg?? That's atrocious for a guy that was averaging 6 in the regular season. And who the hell is Abrines?? That's 8 points from someone I dont even remember in an OKC uni.

I didn't realize we out-rebounded them, but it sure didn't feel like it.

Also didn't help that we didn't get much from Bev. Dude finished with ONE point. Didn't get a lot from Nene either, when he had been very solid the first two games. And Capela reverted back to timid Capela. 5 points and 2 rebounds is terrible for this point in the series. Adams was working him the whole time.

First game harden was like 15 feet away from him on roberson's first three threes. Just stood and watched assuming he'd brick them. After he made them, harden started running at him. Last night he did the same thing a couple of times. Can't give someone in the NBA a wiiiiide open look like that and then give them all day to set themselves and release it.

I knew we'd make a run sooner or later and get back in the game, but it'd be better if it was like game 1 and we kept it close so that when our run did come, it would just allow us to blow the game open. Games 2 and 3 we've let ourselves get down big early and then use that run to let us get back into the game. Simply can not afford to start off sloppy and lethargic.

Can't actually post them right now, but sometimes you can really tell something about +/- values, and sometimes I just scratch my head at them. Capela was a -15 and felt every bit of that. He was a complete none factor other that some down the stretch. Nene didn't feel like a +4. How bigs really didn't provide much. Ariza and Beverley most definitely were -7. Both went 0/7 from the perimeter and had sloppy play themselves. That's what makes losing this game that much more frustrating cause OKC had nearly their entire roster contributing last night when they were barely NBA players the previous games.

Man that's disgusting  :x

Also, Didn't realize Paul George was 26. I though he was right near 30. That's even more incentive to try to make a move for him  though I just don't think it's realistic right now

The Ryno/Capela combo is an L. Thought it'd hamper our championship chances, but it's got us struggling against a team running basic **** like OKC :smh:

If we keep both of them, then we're gonna need JH to play D like Kawhi to actually be contenders.

they have given the Thunder so much confidence. They're blowing routine assignments. McDermott and Abrines(?) only shoot 3s, and they're not contesting them

Ryno moves out the way when actual big men are in the paint. and they're hiding Doug McDermott on him on the other end. We can't even take advantage of the mismatch...(because it isn't one, smh)
