Been looking for a cheap cash SUV, discovered Facebook marketplace. Lots of good prices on there. Guy is going to give me a Tahoe for way below KBB, sent me pics, but the more we talked the more shady it got. I thought it was his faily driver because he lives in Weatherford and drives to OKC everyday for work (about 1hr 15), but today he told me it isn't and it's actually just sitting on the corner of Hefner and Western. He even dropped the price when I texted him (we have been talking a few messages back and forth) by $700 unsolicited. I am meeting him in the morning

What should I look out for? I will be rolling dolo

Going to check the VIN and call some number (which IDK, have to found out what it is) and call to get title status and make sure it isn't stolen although he assures me of both

Both are major streets so we should be in the open, but nobody really wants to catch this fade. I'm a big dude

Any stories of car deals gone wrong before? What if it is stolen but not reported? Also, he has no title but says he'll sign a bill of sale so I can get the DMV to issue me one

I have a friend that got robbed on a Craigslist meet up for a $1,800 cash SUV in Compton

No title? I'd stay away unless he has some sort of proof he owned the car. Maybe he can pull the registration out at least? I think it's a pain in the *** to get it titled though and takes a few months for all the paperwork to go through. Price may be good, but think about if it's really worth all the risk and hassle at the end of the day.

make sure his drivers license matches the registration and make sure the title has no liens. also I know a lot of shady people reset their ECU so no check engine lights will popup until later on, bring a mechanic. be prepared.

Sounds like a bad idea op. You know the saying, if it seems to good to be true it probably is.

Some police stations are opening up "Safe Trade" stations specifically for craigslist/meet hp transactions. There are 4 stations in Oklahoma. Broken Arrow, OK County, Sallisaw, and Sand Springs. Ask him to meet you at one of those and he says no then you know he's trying to murder you.

Even better, I reached out to some contacts I had in the area from when I was always selling Thunder tickets and doing events, someone went out there and got me the vin off of it, truck is really there (It's an 05 Chevrolet Tahoe K1500) and as nice as he claims, but it has a salvage/rebuilt title. $1800 wouldn't be bad but no thanks on the salvage. I don't even know the process to get it insured plus it's probably more expensive. I got a hook on another one, non salvage for $4,000 tomorrow or this Escalade in Dallas for the same price

for 4,000 what do yall think is a better deal, this 03 Scallade

or this 05 Yukon

or this 04 Tahoe http://www.friendshipauto.net/2004_Chevrolet_Tahoe_Broken Arrow_OK_265193945.veh

Text/e-mail the seller that you are bringing your mechanic with you and that you want to meet at a police station.

You will find out quick if the person is on some BS or not.

No hate over here OP but how much more life you think you are going to get out of a car already at 200k miles?

Couple years ago my mans was looking for a Mercedes e class joint on Craigslist n responded to an ad for a low price talkin about a "merc for sale email/text for pics" ...seller sent him pics of a burgundy mercury sable , he was sooo mad

2wd Escalade it is. Going down Friday to scoop

If thats the one with 200k miles on it you gonna need a new motor or ****** within a year or 2. Caddilacs dont last like that and they're more expensive to fix. Youd be better off with a chevy suv for $4k
