Niketalk, Thinking Of Just Voluntary Surrendering aka soft repo the KIA vol worst decision of my lif

Nah no lease, regardless of what I decide with the Kia, just looking for an old model SUV with awd/4wd under 6 racks I can just pay cash fot to have for wheb the weather acts up

Depending on the mileage and make, this is not a good idea. A lot of people neglect to change the transfer case and differential oil thinking it's a lifetime fluid. You don't want to inherit that headache

You are an example of why the upcoming subprime auto bubble is coming.

Nowhere near housing, but something to be reckoned with none the less.

You have had an economy that has been rebounding and people have been buying cars like crazy these past 2 years but that has come at a cost.

Tier C D and E credits have had payment remorse set in. 30 day derogs on the rise eventually becoming repos. Tier A and B have been coming due for leases from 2012 and 2013, car values drop.

Relevant to your situation, you have to judge want vs need. You don't need a truck, I have two kids and drive a four door car, why? I would rather have more disposable income elsewhere. Your thinking of what you could be financing instead, so it's not the payment that bothers you, it's what your paying for.

Gap won't cover your voluntary surrender, and insurance fraud or even the mention of it probably would go well for your government clearance.

I'll be honest with you, if you absolutely can not deal with paying for this car and it bothers you that much, rent the car out via a car sharing service or find someone for a long term lease from you.

I'm not about that insurance fraud life. Outside of speeding, I'm clean as a whistle and intend to keep it that way

Best advice

 at leasing. You're basically renting a car and you're at the dealers' mercy for the whole time. If you have a long commute to work, it's definitely not worth it.

Most leases restrict the amount you can drive, to like 10 or 12k miles a year. I drive way too much for that. Some of those buy here pay here credit repair type of places do a hybrid lease program where you lease and then after your lease you can turn it in and get something else and continue leasing or just own it. They very overcharge though, I asked them the cash price and he said 10 for like a 2001 Tahoe. Said they'd rather I lease it in their program. Nah bruh. I already played myself once, not about to double play myself

Ok reading through this thread I encourage a lot of you to do reasearch on credit.

1. Don't refinance anything. Nobody's going to refinance that loan in the first place and all you'll end up doing is paying more interest.

2. Understand the only thing that truly helps your credit score is revolving credit i.e. Credit cards. Things like mortgages and car loans show your ability to pay on time but can only negatively effect your credit score.

3. Understand credit reporting and how it works. Most banks use only one credit bureau and your score can vary by as much as 75 points between the three.

4. Once something negative is on your credit report it's there and can only be changed by disputing it and having it removed or over time it will carry less of an impact. For example if something is sent to collections it doesn't matter whether you pay it off or not only time will lessen the impact on your score.

5. Determine what your goals for the future are. Do you plan of purchasing a home? Getting a new job? Giving up the car can greatly impact those goals so it might be best to take this as a lesson and pay the vehicle off. Might I suggest you start doing Uber to pay off the vehicle. Make the car pay for itself.

Everyone gets screwed in their first car payment yours was just worse than most. Take it as a lesson and pay it off, you'll never forget making a bad financial decision which will aid you in years to come.

I live in Oklahoma, we drive our own *** places. Ain't no uber market here, maybe in OKC around downtown where the clubs are dealing with drunks primarily on the weekend but nah not worth it. I already own a home. Yea I need to get my credit back into the mid 7's before I get ready to try to move into some top secret requiring jobs, although I know they don't require perfect credit.

Nah I'm thinking about putting it in neutral and kicking it into the lake. Gotta leave a few valuable in there (id cards, drivers license etc) so it doesnt seem too fishy/intentional

I'm in this same boat (sorta). 2011 Subaru WRX that got for $26,000. I owe about 20k on the loan still. Payments are about $340 a month but they are killing me. Can't save money worth **** anymore. I need to get a few surgeries in the near future to continue in my field but damn, I don't know if I can have them with these payments. My girl wants to get a house together :frown:

So I get my whip repo'd and my credit gets screwed, then what's the move after that?

If so, like homie said above.

Keys.

good stuff

anyway I wont pile on but now you know you cant afford to spend 35k on a vehicle

I always tell my freinds to never spend more than 20k on a vehicle loan, if you purchase something more than that pay the difference. now if your makin 130k plus and you can meet your monthly obligations and still travel and save then do you pimpin but otherwise most of middle America is living check to check... the difference in a 500 dollar a month note and a 300 dollar note can be a big deal. a 500 dollar note vs a 0 dollar note is obviously a very big deal for those people makin 30 - 70k. ill never have a payment over 350 unless its a lease. car depreciation is a jokeee. the inflation of the prices a bigger one

most of these dealerships will take a credit card for down payment. get rewards. pay off immeadiate difference. flourish

anywho as it pertains to being 20k upside down... you MUST commit that. The thought of that makes me dry heave. drive in the country late night, put in mouthpeice, veer off road. When the police come claim a deer ran out in front of you

OR if you want a more elaborate tale

find a deer carcus on the side of the road. wrap it up in a tarp. tie each of its legs to two trees about ten feet apart. drive your car into it at moderate speed. drive somewhere nearby and drive it in the ditch again. say deer ran away but you lost control.

j/k not advising you commit insurance fraud on crooks

OP just pay it off fam. Buy you a cash joint that's reliable, park the Kia. Use the cash car as your daily driver, use the Kia when you need something nicer.

I was in a similar(not as bad) situation on my 2012 maxima I have. I still owed 20 grand on my note, had put 70k miles on it and was upside down about 8 grand. I bought a 2012 Acura TL for 12 cash with 50k and parked the maxima until I was able to get "even" on the value/balance so to speak.

I could have put the 12 into the note, but my commute to work would've have had me still car shopping in the near future plus added wear and tear on the maxima.

Be smart and don't go to jail just because you got hussled.

This is why lease>

OP, looks like you going to learn the hard way on this one.

We all been there.
I never forgive Steezy for the time he took me to his slime ball dealership cat...

Don't let this **** hit your credit.
Did you agree to those terms because you wanted to be on the + side of cars value or because you liked the car?

Keep grinding.
And next time get that lease.
Since u the lease gawd I got a question, can u throw the tints on the whip if u least or u can't make ANY changes? Thinking bout grabbing something new but can't ride around in a fish bowl

Virginia, speeding over a certain amount is considered reckless driving and comes with different consequences than a speeding ticket (anything over 80). Doesn't even make sense to get that whip that hauls *** when you can never haul ***.

the way the cops would be waiting on the side of the curve on the 95/295 Petersburg/Richmond area...smh.

Got a ticket the 3rd day I lived there.
