Not that we always get lots of snow down here anyways, but I'd like to purchase an SUV with awd/4wd for the season and just to have as a supplement to the KIa. Budget is $6,000. Third row seats is extremely preffered but not a total dealbreaker. So what's your recommendations in that range given that info? I have been looking at mostly

Cadillac Escallade (ESV as well although they tend to be out of price range)
Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon (and XL/Suburbans but only if it has rims already )
Lincoln Aviator
Lincoln Navigator

with GMC Envoy XL (the 3rd row AND 4x4 model is super rare though) Ford Explorer and Expedition ideally Eddie Bauer or King Ranch Editions, and lastly Chevrolet Suburban on the outside looking in. Model wise, in my range I'm looking at 00-05 with mileage from 150-220k. I guess Jeep Commanders and Dodge Durangos is out there too, but they look funny

Been scouting locally and neighboring cities all the way out to Dallas and even Houston, going to narrow down a city and a few trucks and then probably fly down there with cash and drive back home. Facebook marketplace coming through kind of clutch and helping me brush up on my Spanish at the same time.

You need to take this and put a $6,000 dent in the $32,000 that you owe on your Kia.

You seriously shouldn't be turning the key in anything else until you're done paying that horrible Kia loan off.

I know you've posted about this before, but do you REALLY need the extra space in a SUV?

I mean, is the kia REALLY that bad homie?

subaru forrester. 60/40 split with automatic ****** 50/50 split with manual + snow tires = gucci.

Because I bought it. I actually did the research on lots of things, retaining of value wasn't one unfortunately especially since I didn't think I'd be wanting to trade it in less than a year later and I didn't know that hybrids get poorer gas mileage with lots of interstate driving, which is what I do and thus negates the hybrid feature which I paid a hefty penny (probably double, like an extra 18k or so) for versus the normal trims which would net me the same or probably better gas mileage since I do so much driving on the interstate. I got caught up in the hype being at the dealership. Car seemed bigger at the time too. It's a regular sedan class, not a big sedan like say my Grand Prix was. Oops

Putting a 6'000 dent in the Kia loan won't help me much really. I'll still have it, still owe on it, still be way upside down, and still be slipping and sliding up and down the road in the ice and be cramped. Barring some good fortune (someone wrecks it to the point of totaling it and/or steals it from me), I'll probably have that car until the wheels falls off.

Yes I need the extra space. Trunk can't even handle $100 worth of groceries. When I bought my car seat for example, box wouldn't even go in the car. I had to open it in the parking lot and leave the box.

I goofed. It's fine. I'm not sensitive about it. People make mistakes. I made like 3 my whole life, they just happened to be on bigger things.

The K900 aka the LeBron starts at 49 base (61 for the v8 luxury). They don't even sell it most places, I have seen 1 in real life. The Cadenza is also more expensive than my Kia. I have seen 2 of those on the road and 1 at a dealership

150K-220K miles? Why are your car purchase choices so horrible

Them vortex engines get like 290k miles on average. It's not going to be my daily driver and will be a cash purchase. I get a few yrs out of it before the transmission or something OD expensive blows and it's served its purpose. Once she hits like 3, baby stuff won't take up as much space. Just need a booster seat.

Chevy gona be the best bet....but its a z71? Yeah the previous owner prolly drove wreckless as hell.

Before you outright purchase a used car with that many miles on it please take it to a mechanic you trust before taking another L. Make sure the previous owner(s) did their regular maintenance and changed up the belts/water pump etc at 100k.
