Isn't there someone white that you can talk to, or do they not want to deal with you either? I bet it is the latter, as you are probably an embarrassment to them as well.

you also just had a black president for 8 years.

That got dog whistle racism thrown at him for 8 years, was protest by white nationalist from the jump, and caused the opposing party start to try to systemically disenfranchise black people because the participation rates where getting to high and could give that black president enough political power to advance the communities civil and economic rights.

That black president?

The second black people thought America might we ready to turn the corner on race relation, the white supremacy struck back. Which culminated in a racist being elected president

Don't see how embarrassing that is for America?

That a good portion of Americans hated Obama from the jump, dismissed the policies that would help them as socialism, dismissed him as un-American, but are now is depending on a lying racist to pull them out of economic despair.

The post World War II Economic order allowed American whites, who hitherto had no capital, to turn their labor into capital. Due to 40 years of neoliberalism, the some of the economic components of white privilege have diminished for white workers. However, this does not mean that white privilege is not a very real and very potent force.

It's kinda like a their lending a helping hand yet refuse to let minorities get ahead because of THAT lending hand.

It's about power. Having your privilege lessened is scary.

"A Hispanic student wants to know.
As a child in public schools and now as a graduate student in history, I have learned one thing to be true about the United States: It is a white country. The founders were white, white men established its core principles and political system, and white men and women built the nation into what it is today.

Even before I became aware of the importance of race, I never thought this was “racist” or unfair; it was simply a fact. America has always been a white country and always should be. Why, then, are white people giving away their country?"

Out of curiosity, I ran a quick search to see where this garbage originated.

It turns out that it was lifted from "American Renaissance," a publication of a White Supremacist organization, the "New Century Foundation."

I wish I could say I'm surprised.

An actual student of history, as opposed to a fictitious strawman, might know that participatory democracy was practiced on this continent well before the arrival of European settlers.

In truth, hundreds of years ago, a bicameral legislature consisting of publicly elected officials was established, not by Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, or George Washington, but by the Six Nation Confederacy, consisting of the Oneidas, Onondagas, Mohawk, Cayugas, Tuscarora, and Senecas.

While 'American democracy' does indeed appear to borrow from the 'classical' ancient Athenian democracy, at least in that both prohibited the participation of women, the similarities between the governments of the Six Nation Confederacy and the United States of America are unmistakable and may not be responsibly dismissed as mere coincidence.

Like the United States Government, the Six Nation Confederacy was established through a Constitution. The Six Nation Confederacy featured a separation of power, including a system of checks and balances similar to that present in the United States Government. Each nation within the confederacy served as a different branch of the government. Like the United States government, the government of the Six Nation Confederacy was divided into three main branches. The Onondaga served a role similar to the executive branch, with a veto that could be overridden by the Elder and Younger Brothers, who comprised the two houses of the legislative branch. The Mohawk and Seneca were known as the Elder Brothers, and served as the upper house, while Oneida and Cayuga were Younger Brothers, and served as the lower house, similar to the Senate and House of Representatives found in the United States Congress. Women's Councils settled disputes and judged legal violations, similar to the judicial branch of the United States Government. Just as each state within the United States has power to address its own unique issues and circumstances, so too did the individual nations of the Six Nation Confederacy have the power to deal with their own internal affairs.

This is not mere coincidence.

The United States Senate formally acknowledged the influence of the Great Law of Peace in the formation of the United States' participatory democracy in 1988:

All that "white nationalists" celebrate, slavery, genocide, bigotry, and oppression, represent America at its ugliest and most primitive.  At its best, America demonstrates the strength of diversity.

Those of us in the US who have considered moving to Canada in the wake of this election should keep people like Titanium Tea and Rocky437 in mind.  Moving to Canada is no escape from festering racism and White Nationalist sentiment.  We ALL have a lot of work to do in our respective countries.

There's no question that racists are getting bolder due to Brexit and the outcome of the US election.  The decent among us must be more vigilant.  We do not request respect on NikeTalk, we require it.

No matter how many White Supremacists are appointed to cabinet positions, know that our community is NOT under new management and our commitment to respect and equality will not change.

If you think White people are inherently "better" or "more deserving", if you think they are anything more (or less) than EQUAL, you do not belong here.  Our private community does not exist to amplify your ignorant hate speech.

I got bad news for you titanium tea titanium tea

Your ignorance and the fact that you haven't been placed in environments to see past it....white privilege.

I'm all for everyone else attempting to educate him, but at the end of the day, dude is gonna go back to the internet and search for videos and articles that support his belief system. NOT actually start listening to the people trying to give him perspective by telling him that his experience isn't the same as everyone in America.

Why waste our time?
