I hooped in mine this morning and I gotta say that they are pretty good. They have the same type of traction like the Kobe Xs so the shallow grooves in the forefoot will pick up dust, but the heel traction is opened up a little more so the traction on that end isn't too bad. A couple wipes after every 3-4 plays will be fine. The cushion does soften up after about 2 games, I don't know how long it will take for others since everyone's play style is different, but for me it took about 2 games. The mesh upper does a pretty good job with loosening up after a bit so it becomes pretty pliable after a while. Breathability isn't too bad, but I'm sure when a FK version comes out, it should be better. IMO, you sit a little higher than usual. So if you are looking for that court feel, these might not be the best option for you, but if you don't mind sacrificing court feel for a little more comfort, you should be fine. If I was to compare these to another Kobe, performance wise, these will be pretty close to the Xs.

For those with wide feet, go up half a size. For everyone else, go TTS.

Damn hate shoes too high off the floor.. the age old battle - court feel vs comfort/impact protection

lol footlocker with the fake sell out. I know this because I was online doing Christmas shopping last night and they had a full size run at 2AM. Lol they be easily obtainable in a month. Got my PreHeat KD9s the same way, and they apparently sold out too lol. They do anything to boost sales

So, did you guys got the same size as the 11s?

coz im usually a 10 on Kobes except the 11s which i went down to 9.5

I am a TTS 9.5 (TBH I feel like a 9.75 because I always seem to be in sizing predicament on whether I should go TTS or .5 up with quite a few shoes; first world problems...). I went back and forth on what fit better and the difference seemed negligible for me. 10s were slightly longer, but just walking around it seemed insignificant. That said, I don't have wide feet and TTS won out. Overall it just "wrapped around my foot better" with little "deadspace" if you will. Where as the 10s seemed like slightly over a thumbs space from end of toe to the edge of the toe box. For a decent amount of people, I'm sure they could pull off TTS or .5 up IMO.

I'm particularly careful with Kobe's since I bought too many pairs in my wrong size in the 8s when i started collecting them (originally bought 10.5s and really the 10s fit better. For some reason I felt like the 10s were snugger than I liked when I first tried them in. Had an epiphany when I received my IDs and the 10.5 felt really big. Don't ask my why it took so long for me to figure the sizing out...)

Anyway, for reference, this is what I wear as a TTS 9.5:
Kobe 8: 10
Kobe 9: 10 in EM and Flyknit
Kobe 10: 9.5 EM and 10 in Flyknit
Kobe 11: 10 EM and 9.5 in Flyknit

Hopefully that helps. Sorry if there are an abundance of typos or something doesn't make sense, I'm typing from my phone.

Appreciate the sizing info. Looks like imma have to go the size as my 11s. I don't have a wide foot so it should be ok.

Kudos, man.

Andre Iguodala wore them but switched back to Oreo XI near the end of the first quarter. Think it's too high off the ground for him or he's slowly breaking them in each game?

How was the weight of the shoe compared to the kobe 11s?

So they renamed the thread to link to this? Why not just change the name of the thread and keep it going?
Because people are asking me to update it and I don't want to as I have almost zero interest in this silhouette.

Instead of complaining ask a mod to merge the two threads giving control to @thapointguy

I cannot give the other thread to anyone without mod help so it is what it is.

been only flyknit kobes on the IX and X, didn't even look at the XI. but this first pair of the (EM?) AD, i had to. i may not go the NXT if the price is $200

Looks like the first couple colorways of the NXT (Flyknit ?) will be:

Black / University Red / Total Crimson

White / Turbo Green / Igloo / Volt

Has anyone balled in them yet? Interested to hear about the traction, i quite like the gray cw but i wonder if they have improved traction over the last model.

got my pair in today. went TTS (been wearing an 8.5 in all kobes except the 10 elites which are a 9). they fit great as you'd expect a kobe shoe would but i noticed a bunch of things i wasn't crazy about:
- the mesh upper feels nice and broken-in already but the stitching design looks like it could eventually start fraying and coming undone after some court use. i'm not one to worry about keeping my ballin shoes clean and undamaged but this is actual soft-thread stitching.
- the upper doesn't seem breathable but i was just wearing them around the house and my feet got hot.
- the tongue panel is really stiff. no discomfort there because it's well-padded but it does squeak for me when you bend your foot upward.
- not sure where this zoom air bag is in the heel but i don't feel it at all.

overall, i like them, they're comfortable, they fit well, and the traction is super tacky. however, it doesn't seem necessary and it's underwhelming (for me, at least) because i don't see or even feel the innovation or the "next level" this model brings.

deciding whether or not to keep them at this point and just wait for the cloak and barca 11 EMs for a steep discount. at least with those i can swap those midsoles with the lunar/zoom for casual or full-length zoom for ball.

I posted my review on them on the previous page. I did ball in them and I did say a few things about the traction. There are 2 sets of traction patterns on the sole of the AD, the forefoot to midfoot have a tight traction pattern that is similar to the 10s. The Midfoot to heel has a more open traction pattern that is similar to the 6s. I found that the traction on the forefoot does attract dust, but a quick wipe every 3-4 plays is fine. The heel does't attract that much dust due to the grooves being more spread out. It is an interesting pattern that was chosen, but it does work out, surprisingly. The rubber is a translucent smoke, so I'm not 100% sure if a pure rubber sole will work better. The rubber is pliable so I wouldn't recommend these for outdoor use if you're looking for longevity.
