Where are y'all going?

What food are you guys preparing/eating?

Post pics.

Headed to my brother's.

Pernil, potato salad, fried chicken, lasagna, stuffed peppers, rice, beans.

**** turkey.

Canadian thanksgiving is in October, another reason to move up here :smokin

Only things i'm preparing this year is some stuffing and some butter brushed biscuits.

^Whoa, that's awkward.

As far as Thanksgiving, goes it'll be our (wife and daughter) first time celebrating without our extended family.

So, I'm going to cook a ribeye roast, some mac and cheese, have apple pie w/ vanilla ice cream.

Then enjoy my time with my daughter watching the thanksgiving day parade.

I hope I don't mess up the prime rib lol.

Man shut up.
You dont see a slight problem with someone who champions for equality, wishing for thanksgiving?

Its like the holiday that celebrates inequality.  Im just saying, thats the level of thought id expect from an nt preacher

I thought it was about white and brown people eating together. That's what the coloring books always showed with them sitting at a big table. Relations between the two groups weren't always 100% of the white man slaying them during pilgrim times.

Best wishes to all of NT and your families.

I had this last year -- I wouldn't mind a repeat:
lets kick it off again:

Yeah, man. Thanksgiving dinners vary from family to family.

My immediate family either roasted a chicken, prime rib, and some filipino dishes. We rarely ate turkey, because we don't really eat turkey.

My wife's family is ALL filipino/chinese food

Closest thing to a turkey is my mom-in-laws fried korean chicken wings.

You of all people want to celebrate europeans stealing minorities land?

Im not actually shocked,  I would have just imagined youd be too tied up in the guilt to enjoy your turkey tho.
Boy go wash your face and sit down somewhere

Obviously I don't support the holiday's history, I just wish we had some holiday here that involves a big family gathering to enjoy a large feast.

Last time my dad cooked the turkey he overcooked it and it was dry as hell. I think I ended up eating only one small slice. :smh:

My bro is supposed to cook it tomorrow but my dad will probably end up cooking it again.

**** HOLIDAYS

@Slighted  I remember having those meals when I was younger.

Family would drive from Detroit, Memphis and Mississippi to eat.

My great grandma dies and it seems like everyone holds their own diners

Holidays are so empty.

Hope I get called into work.

this is interesting to me only because thanksgiving is distinctly american but people of all cultures can celebrate it and cook cultural dishes

We only eat off paper plates, b. Ain't got no time for doing dishes.

Nah, those are shrimp/crab egg rolls. The only "American" food we have are turkey + mashed potatoes.

No paper plates for us b. The adults do the cooking so all the cousins do the dishes. It's become tradition. We just bump some music and keep the drinks flowing. There's usually about 10 "kids" so it isn't too bad.
