Do you think music influences kids at all or in any way? VOL....mom finds sons playlist

Yes, music is influuential...but like everything else its just a small piece of the pie as to what influences people..

There's a reason u listen to Marvin or R.Kelly when u tryna set the mood....

There's a reason u listen to chief keef or flocka when u about to go ride out or hit a lick...

There's a reason ur gym playlist is turn up music...conversely, there's a reason u listen to Curren$y when ur winding down burning one...

This. Music has the power to put you in different moods.

Unquestionably to varying degrees dependent on the individual.

Applies to both kids and adults.

Grew up listening to trap and the only thing on my record is speeding tickets.

Don't really listen to that sub-genre anymore.

Just like alcohol, weed, heroin influences people...

Just like wrestling and video games...

Just like when kids overhear their mom or dad using vulgar language, and repeat those words at school?

Lastly, kids finding mom or dads gun, and taking it to school?

Who influenced kids in the 1920s, 30s and 40s to commit crimes? Any ragtime songs for example?

entertainment/medias best interest is to grab em while their young and developing. So yes.

The question was does it influence at all or in ANY WAY. Not specifically in a negative way.

I'm pretty sure music has influenced all of you in some form or fashion. Whether it was using slang or wearing fashion introduced into pop culture via music. So that makes you guys impressionable too right?

Common sense guy, OF course it will influence you

That mom is the type of parent who asks her child if they've done their homework, but never even looks at the actual homework being done

Absolutely however

I was getting ridicule for listening to N.W.A back in the day but guess what it didn't matter because in 2015 everybody and their mommas went to see straight outta Compton..

 in middle school I started listening to black metal and became a huge Cradle of Filth fan. My parents got worried when I started asking questions about Lucifer.

I think it does. However, I think the level it has an effect depends on how you raise your kid. If you teach them your values and how to think for themselves, then it should be minimal. At most it may affect their style.

It influences the impressionable. Folks willing to die over rap lyrics and rappers who don't know them is pathetic.[/thread]

I think OP was coming at it from a negative perspective. Hence, my reply.
