If you put Tariq up against a guy like Ta-Nehisi Coates, Tariq comes off as clownish. However, judge Tariq by the standards of other shock jocks and he's brilliant.

Sometimes he is a provocateur, no doubt. For example, intersectionality is not a "hustle." On the other hand, the man is not wrong about sun down towns and the criminalization of the black body. Plus, the man gets a life time's worth of respect for his drug dealer-banker parable. The man broke down the 2008 financial crash better than anyone else in the World.

Tariq essentially exposed the fact that he's not as articulate as he'd lead you to believe from his podcast. It's not surprising, since it's easier to assert your point in a closed dialog setting (i.e. a podcast hosted solo) rather than argue it intellectually against someone who is combatting it. I wouldn't say he got flamed by Tucker. He just ousted himself as even more of a person who should be taken with a grain of salt -- a measure that should be taken when it comes to anyone who's speaking from a soapbox... but unfortunately that's not a measure everyone takes.

I think I saw him on tbc and he didn't really challenge him at all.

Dude definitely came off as shifty to me, though. Dudes who sell tips on how to be a player usually come off like used car salesmen to me most of the time.

Blows my mind how cats in here, especially brothers, don't see this.

Yes, he has some wack perspectives.

Yes, you can roll your eyes at some of the things he touts.

But you can't deny that the dude is exploring and exposing some cats to things that they wouldn't otherwise look at. There are a lot of dudes that got the light bulb turned on in their head from a conscious perspective on the way america is b/c they were listening to him talk about getting chicks.

I understand not agreeing with him... But as a black man, he's doing way more positive in terms of educating and exposing people to stuff than negative.

a dude that's trying to get paper while teaching folks... while cats bashing him feel they're making the world better through a bunch of reps / likes on relatively solid points on social media.

thats the thing I know people are turned off by his terminology but within that, there are gems. I get it though.

Tariq is better at creating the documentaries, not at speaking/debating so he should team up w/ someone who is.
