I unloaded the merchandise trucks at Kohls.

One day a week. 5AM-10AM shift. 5 hours a week.

Minimum wage, $8 / hr.

I asked for more hours and to work register, but all those jobs went to the girls in the store cause they could sell the Kohls cards more easily.

Look for something else instead.

My first job was microfilming checks at a bank for $6.00/hour. I was 14 years old. It was cool because any money you get when you're that young seems like a lot. I was working with good friends too. We used to look at the p0rno mags the older dudes had tucked away in the bathroom.

I'd give my left nut to be that young again.

Working in the Hub at FedEx slanging boxes. If you shipped something through FedEx trust that it was probably thrown or kicked to get it on the conveyor. It was cold as hell in the winter and hot as a fool in the summer.
I had plenty fun with my coworkers though, good times.

Ride operator at an amusement park. Helped me pay for my first car (which died on me a few months later :smh:). Definitely taught me how to word hard and earn what's right. I started at 8.35 and got a raise to 8.57 shortly before I left  I'm about to start my highest paying job though next month, it's salary plus bonuses :pimp:

Driving around the airport, it made me realize a lot of those guys are grossly underpaid. Stressful jobs to make flight times and stay within laws of airport police.

It's funny that as you climb the ladder, the less work you really do as you're no onger the front line visible to the customers.
Funny, you mention this. Was talking to a former coworker and this topic came up. After me talking about my new position, he asked me so what do you do every day? After like a ten second pause I replied "manage people" which is code for "not a lot"

McDonald's at 16. Hated coming home from work near midnight tired, exhausted, having to do my homework and still get up for school in the AM. Taught me the value of a dollar and that I never want to end up doing that again. I didn't eat fast food for months after I quit that job.

Like BlackIntellect said, I haven't worked that hard since.

???

Let me just say that I've come up a long way. I just started full time making 17/HR on a mattress bed production line.

First job was at the Zoo in Food service for 7.25 a hr :x

Zoo in DC is literally open all year except Christmas folks don't realize that

Used to be in the Zoo equivalent of McDonalds in February when it was 30 degrees out

Worked in a bakery when I was 14 or 15...got fired after a month.

I ruined too many cakes that folks ordered. I'd go to take them out of the fridge for pickup, but my thumbs would always go in the cake/frosting. I wouldn't say anything, and because people couldn't see that back of the cake when I opened the box top, they thought everything was good. When the people would get home w/ their cakes and actually take them out of the boxes, there would be two huge thumb-holes in the back and then the irate calls to the bakery would start happening.

I'd also eat items out of the display when we were instructed to only eat/take home the day old stuff...nah. I wanted it fresh and when I was hungry, I'd just start snacking

Worst. Job. Ever.

I would say I was 17, worked at target as a cart attendant. During the holidays I absolutely busted my ***.

Summers were super relax though. Since I was technically supposed to be in the parking lot I would just hangout outside alot and walk around to the other stores in the same Plaza

Working outside in the rain and severe heat sucked, but it wasn't bad overall. Anyone who's been to target in the summer time knows what the women there are looking like 8)

I hear it's hard now days for someone to get a full shift like that at Starbucks unless they're a supervisor or something.

14 years old. Golf Caddy at the Country Club. Golfers determined our pay. They'd give you a $25,$50,$75, or $100 tip. Depending on how rich they were or how good you were. But being out on 18 holes on a summer day was unbearable. My goodness! :x

Real job, At 21 in college about to finish started working at the aquarium out Coney Island. So damn shameful even saw a professor of mine asking me dumb question quit after 3 months.

But real legit job for more than 10 months, shortly after was as a hospital operator. Paid a cool 18 an hour with medical benefits.

1st job ever Boston market. My pops used to smash the gm way back so we walked in no interviews or anything, filled out paperwork and started working in a grey dickie fit and black and grey 7s with a Boston market hat. Ruined my js smh.

First full time job was the worse job I ever had. Worked at cintas, made 10hr, was 20yo with 0 bills so it looked good getting paid weekly. Worse place ever tho man, I used to have to sort dirty linen from restaurants in **** and in the summer the smell was atrocious. Mildew **** with maggots, old food etc sitting in the heat and having to sort it by hand, big 12 by 12 by 3 carts of it. A year and change later I walked in dropped my uniforms and told the supervisor u do this **** and never looked back. Currently at work right now, making almost 3x that amount surfing nt doing nothing. **** always get better, u just always gotta stay on the look out and make the right relationships.
