The sleep health thread

Not great, neurologist set me up for a sleep study.

I need to see a specialist one of these days. I've had sleep apnea since I was a kid. People have told me it's the worst they've ever heard and it sounds like I'm dying in my sleep.

Sleep apnea can be dangerous, I would get it checked out just be sure. My uncle has a pretty severe case of it and he actually suffered minor brain damage as a result from the lack of oxygen during his sleep.

I've had it for 20 plus years. Has me thinking it's why memory is bad.

M-F i usually sleep from 1030p-630a, give or take. so that's roughly 8hrs a sleep
on the weekends sleep later and wake up a little later. usually 9 hrs of sleep. rarely do i get wasted or stay up all night anymore where it throws off my sleeping patterns

if i exert physical activities after work (workout/ball), i usually can fall asleep easily. if i watch a little tv or read before bed and that really gets me tired.
wake up a couple times to use the bathroom, but most of the time, will fall back to sleep. some nights where i just lay there trying to go back :x
when i'm smoking or have had an edible, i will sleep through the night :smokin

dont have time to nap anymore. if i do, it is usually 15-30m

It varies everyday.

I usually fall asleep around 7-9 P.M. wake up randomly and then see what NBA games are on. Watch the games up until 1 A.M... and then go back to sleep and then wake up 6-9 A.M. for a work shift.

Weekends i sleep all day until 10 P.M. and then hit the bars strip. Come home and stay up till' about 4:30 A.M....

My long distance relationship had me sleeping at 12-1 am then waking up at 5:30 am, I lost mad sleep. Now since I ended that, I've been getting 8-9 hours of sleep :pimp: Feels great honestly, and I actually take naps now

I'm a bad sleeper. I usually go to bed around midnight on weekdays and wake up at 5:30 in the morning. So I average around 5 - 5.5 hours of sleep. It also doesn't help that I have issues snoring and I suffer from occasional bouts of sleep paralysis. I'm long overdue for a sleep study. But it's so damn expensive.

I sleep about 8 hours every night due to my first classes being at 10:10 and 11:00 in the morning

Last year i only got around 6 because i had 8 ams everyday

I have stretches of sleeping great and then stretches of sleeping like crap. If I get anything less than 7 hours Im not feeling 100% the next day
If I could have 3 wishes best believe one of them would be to be able to sleep 8 hours each and every day.

I don't sleep well at night n I'm a light sleeper so anything wakes me up :smh: ...I take alotta naps since I'm tired all the time ...usually get in the bed between midnight and 2am and I wake up at 730 or 8 during the week ...weekends I fall asleep and wake up whenever

been focussing on getting not only more hours but better quality sleep. usually sleep with the TV on, don't do that anymore and I feel way less distracted, more focused. actually been sticking to my schedule and been gradually feeling better physically and cognitively. cant undermine sleep and it's restorative properties

Even with 7-8 hours of sleep I still feel extremely tired when I wake up. Any suggestions or tips to not feel so tired in the morning? I sleep at around 10 or 11 and wake up around 6:30AM for work.

Hopefully I duck the warning as I deal with this regularly
My sleep aid is smoking. It was a benefit I discovered on accident.. Smoking before going to bed helps me fall asleep almost instantly and makes my sleep tremendously more refreshing.

I honestly think a study should be done on this. When im not actively smoking my sleep is awful regardless of how much I get. Constantly waking up in the middle of the night and hearing your alarm going off after 7-8 hours of being in bed feeling like you slept 15 minutes

Bruh at some points I was wondering where I could have possibly been drawing strength from. **** was awful.

I dread the upcoming period where I have to quit for 'surprise' drug testing

I wish I could stop waking up feeling like I took a dive in a swimming pool though. :smh: cold sweats are the worst

I used to before I started working at my new job. It did help with sleep but I would still feel groggy the next morning, probably due to the amount that I was smoking the night before. I don't anymore due to experiencing extreme paranoia. Drinking a alcohol helps me sleep, but I don't want to become reliant on anything to help me sleep. My main problem is waking up in the morning no matter how many hours of sleep I get. I'm probably just burnt out from work.
