Considering before it was $9, $11 is a good jump

It used to jump $.50 here and there

its a little something for workers to be happy about. Still hard to live in NY under $15 an hour in my opinion.

Fast food places still will always need people to cook, stock, and clean the store

I dunno how Americans gonna feel about Johnny 5 cooking their burger.

Im sure some folks wont care, but as big as health food and clean eating craze is, its gonna take a LONG time before people just cool with a robot cook

I swear though the McDonalds with the kiosks have more employees now than before. The one around my way has people delivering food to them to their tables. I thought that was wild.

SF minimum wage is $13 but man, it need to go up even higher.

going to be hard to fill up these jobs. folks can even afford to live in the city, no way are they commuting to the city to work these jobs
was talking to the manager at the trade joes around my way. that store is severely understaffed and lines are hella long. they've been trying to fill positions, but folks just can't live off min wage in sf

i think it jumps to $15 but that's in 2018

I'd trust a robot to be much cleaner in general than your average person.

Prolly cook a better burger too

Good for the people who need it but by the time it actually is $15 a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a gallon of milk gonna cost $16 + tax + 10¢ for a double bag

I already hit up ninja already, but I'm finally gonna make the journey to check out Washington heights. Y'all got any recommendations for night life

same here, the one here in BK has the kiosks but more people working in the back so your food comes out faster. Drive thru's a lot faster too.

And its cocky idiots like this who dont understand whats at stake.

Typical American mentality, we want something for nothing and the Democrats are eager to create a program to allow it.

As for as Fast Food, they are already implementing technology where you dont need a cashier. If you do some reading thier is technology being developed where they won't need cooks.

Increased minimum wage will only speed the process and our high school children will have one less place to learn valuable basic work experience.

The whole freezer section of your local grocery store is made by robots. You are just one step step away from a fully automated system. So Americans are well adapted.

If you're working 40 hours and you can't fulfill your basic needs, you're underpaid.

Putting people out of work will result in chaos unless measures are taken to compensate for the loss of income.

Keeping the minimum wage the same while the cost of living increases steadily will result in the same thing: widespread poverty followed by social instability.

This is something that usually escapes the Republican mindset because it can't see further than the next quarter.

Crazy how resistant enployers are to workers making a living wage especially in one if the most expensive cities in the world like nyc.
15 now meant right now not in increments iver a few years and even that is too little. In reality you need at least 25-30 an hour in nyc
