I remember hearing GYAG, You're The Man, One Mic leak out early :x :pimp:

Intro was :wow: , was all business from the start.

Local mom n pop store having it 3 days earlier, pumpin it with the boys in front of the crib.

My favorite Nas album with one of the hardest intros ever. I was a big Jay fan leading up to that album, and Nas was all but dead to me. He may as well have been Triple Seis or whoever the 4th Flipmode Squad member is. This album changed that going forward for me. Album quality wise, Nas vs Jay since Stillmatic/Blueprint is the Pats vs Jets.

^Disagree, it ain't no pats vs jets.

Both are brilliantly made albums.

This was a special moment. Remember listening to this **** daily in my discman.

Classic. My favorite Nas album.

The Intro :pimp: :wow:

Ether :x

Your Da Man :pimp: :pimp:

Rewind :wow:

2nd Childhood :pimp: That Premo beat

The Flyest :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

What Goes Around :pimp:

Nas vs Jay since Stillmatic/Blueprint is the Pats vs Jets.

American Gangster is better than every Nas after this though. More like Pats (Jay) vs Ravens (Nas)

Fire album!

One Mic
My Country
Rule
Every Ghetto

And Got Yourself A Gun was the lead single. I miss those days.

Only track I aim **** with was Braveheart Party, didn't fit the album at all.

Blood of slave
Heart of a king :pimp: :pimp:

Has the best rap intro ever imo

One Mic, What Goes Around, Your Da Man, 2nd Childhood, and the intro are my favorite tracks

Nah both are great albums, but their consecutive albums after that, I can confidently say that the only album Jay had better than Nas during that same period was American Gangster being better than 'Untitled'.

Never really like The Flyest.

After hearing every AZ/Nas collabo The Flyest gotta be at or near the bottom.

My Country one of the most slept on tracks. Nashawn had a lot of talent

A yo the brothers still matic I crawled up outta that grave wiping that dirt cleaning my shirt they thought I'd make another illmatic but it's always foward I'm moving never backwards stupid here's another classic

:smh:

This is all my opinion remember but..
..

Its funny because my favorite songs off this album aren't even the most popular

Youre da man
2nd childhood
Poison

Withstanding the jay nas argument i never liked ether....im not gonna create that argument tho ill just leave it there lol

I dont like "gimmicky" songs. Rewind....one mic....rule....got yourself a gun
They feel really contrived and not organic like illmatic nas

Again arguable but my opinion

There were alot of forgettable songs on this album.

Like i said tho its GOOD. But i wouldn't say great. I think it benefited alot from the time and atmosphere.

There were alotta gems (verses) tho

Opinion respected, but I don't see how Rule and got yourself a gun is gimmicky, I can understand rewind and one mic. But even with those being different, I wouldn't consider them as gimicks, they didn't seem forced to me. Can't knock him for trying something outside of the regular 16 bars and hook platform, and it was just 2 songs, not like he overdid it.
