Caffeine fiends welcome ...:::ENTER HERE:::... and are Keurig's stupid?

Yeah, the cleaning part is tedious. But something about the process is relaxing.

My wife has a Chemex maker that I too was amazed with the process...Gotta test out making a cup with that as well.

tried a french press dont have the time to make that kind of coffee everyday. But after looking up a youtube video of the chemex i think i can manage to use that everyday looks pretty simple. Will be my next coffee machine once these nespresso pods run out.

Oakland's Blue Bottle Coffee and Highwire Coffee my go to for beans.

I always try to bring some beans from local coffee roasters so I've tried a few. The beans I got from Blue Bottle and from Ritual in SF were probably the best I bought in the US.

The process is fairly simple, if you have a gram scale and a proper kettle to pour the hot water.

I only mess with Espresso. I drink coffee cause my wife makes it, but I prefer espresso.

I really don't like coffee, but it's the cheapest option. I prefer energy drinks.

But, I do like a nice cup of espresso with a dessert once in a while.

I always make it at home. It's way too expenive going out all the time.

I think Starbucks is $2 per shot of espresso. So in 200 days a good machine will pay for itself. Drip coffee pays for itself even sooner. Plus, no lines or waiting at home :smokin

Bulletproof coffee bros:

Grass fed unsalted butter (kerry gold @ costco)
MCT Oil (coconut oil @ amazon)
Pete's coffee

Blended using a wand or blender.  Healthy and wired with energy til lunch.  #healthyfats

But so is an extra large with creme and sugar w/ a creme filled donut, what you know about that? :smokin

Oh, that Costco Sumtra blend coffee or whatever, it has like a tiger on it in a red wrapper is the truth. I but the Starbucks french roast when it's on sale @ Costco, but it's aight.

Copped a Keurig and about 300 kcups. Lets see how this goes

I hope you got those cups for free lol

Keurig kinda sucks IMO

Coffee doesn't even taste good no matter what brand you buy

Yes I have the past top model and basically just purchased Starbucks and Tim hortons kcups

Surprisingly the best ones I had were the mcdonalds McCafe k cups.

I'm not a coffee snob so I dont really care about taste (obviously as long as it doesnt taste like ****). I'm more so chasing the energy boost from the caffeine

This is usually my go to caffeine source but I think I'm getting immuned.

Just starting to get into drinking coffee more. Especially flavored coffee. Cinnabon flavored coffee with the Cinnabon creamer is great.

I love Ethiopian coffee but blended equal parts with any Indonesian is my favorite blend.

If your beans are more than a week old and haven't been frozen yet you're consuming just a slightly above average product, depending on the origin of the bean.

If they're 7+ days old and pre-ground you're drinking a pretty below-average cup.

Instant and supermarket-level are straight gutter quality and actually wildly expensive for what you're getting. Folgers/Maxwell/Yuba etc. actually take the chaff(skin) that cooks off during the roasting process and grind it back into the bean product.

There's enough local coffee roasters around these days that you should be able to find a pound of elite level organic Guatemala/Mexico/Costa Rica roasted within the last 5 days at $10 a pop.

I gotta have a redbull or kickstart to start my day. At one point I could drink the super monster can and not feel it

Repped for that info. Had no idea. Will do some research next week to find some good coffee in my local area.

so then you need your own grinder as well?

Probably. A perfectly capable grinder is like $15-$25 at a Target, but if you have crotchety neighbors in an apt. building or loved ones with different schedules the AM noise could be an issue.

Most yuppie-ish stores have self-service coffee grinders on site in the bulk coffee section and if you went that route I'd grind it there then freeze it at home ASAP.

I like my Keurig, a cup or two a day. Caffeine does nothing for me, I just like how it tastes.

U store it in freezer bags? Is it not frozen when you go to use it?

I use mason jars or any other glass jar that comes with a lid. Brewing coffee with recently frozen beans/ground beans has never registered with me as an actual culinary faux pas. There's a widely misinformed mainstream myth that coffee's true identity is destroyed when it's exposed to freezing temperatures. I've never experienced this.

Starbucks twice a week Mon/Fri. For the coffee and the ladies

My girl knows exactly why i go to a specific starbucks. Because its snow bunny season all day + year round lmao she even goes with me sometimes and she says "you're right."

Any testimonials from Keurig and Ninja Bar owners? We have a Keurig at home and I find that the coffee tastes fine, but does not stay hot for very long. Once it's brewed it is, but no sooner do I put some milk in and it's already room temp :smh: .

Curious if the Ninja Bar is any better where it's worth making the switch.

I heat my milk up in the microwave or on the stove before putting the milk in. I have the ninja bar and there is a "stay warm" option on the heating pad that will keep it warm for up to a few hours.

To the Keurig users, what's a good strong pod? Copped one and everything is too weak using even the lowest amount of water.Tried most of the Starbucks and a couple Green Mountain.
