Caffeine fiends welcome ...:::ENTER HERE:::... and are Keurig's stupid?

I tried Peet's Major Dickinson and House Roast and thought both of those were strong.

Have you considered buying the re-usable k-cup and using your own coffee? I've been doing that lately.

Just received a bag of Philz' Tesora and waiting to use some Blue Bottle beans

Got major Dickinson at work and the CFO asked them to use less water. That stuff is so strong feels like it's strips enamel of your tooth. I dilute it with a little hot water.

I consider myself somewhat of a coffee snob. I got really into brewing a few years back after my Starbuck solo barista coffee machine broke. Looking back, I can’t believe I drank coffee from that thing for like 5 years, made such an inferior cup of coffee.

Researched a lot and decided to go with the Areopress. This thing is one of best inventions ever. Perfect for someone like me that enjoys a low frills, single cup of coffee, fresh and black. Freshly ground coffee beans are the way to go if you’re into taste. Research burr grinders and if you’re serious and do not buy one of the cheap “coffee bean grinders” at target. I bought a hand burr grinder off of amazon. Yes, I have to grind my beans for each cup I make, but it’s almost therapeutic for me at this point, it has become a part of my daily routine and I enjoy doing it. It seriously takes me about 60 seconds to grind my beans for the day, less time than it takes to boil the water for my coffee.

It’s been fun trying all kinds of different coffee beans. Amazon has a decent selection and it’s nice that I can have them delivered to me in just a couple of days. I’m looking into some of those monthly coffee bean subscription services but haven’t decided which one to go with yet. I’ll report back if I happen to come across any that I’d recommend.

i've bought real civet coffee for my dad and usually try and buy some good coffee for my family on christmas. it can get pretty expensive. this year i looked on coffeereview.com and bought some of the highest rated coffees as gifts. this one was for my dad and was really good.

Just starting to get into drinking coffee more. Especially flavored coffee. Cinnabon flavored coffee with the Cinnabon creamer is great.

Stay away from Cinnabon they put estrogen in all of that stuff....

Anyways..

Rockstar is the only NRG drink that used to work for me... I quit the NRG drinks back in June of 2014.... but I drink coffee like it's nothing to handle LOL!!

I love Ethiopian coffee but blended equal parts with any Indonesian is my favorite blend.

If your beans are more than a week old and haven't been frozen yet you're consuming just a slightly above average product, depending on the origin of the bean.

If they're 7+ days old and pre-ground you're drinking a pretty below-average cup.

Instant and supermarket-level are straight gutter quality and actually wildly expensive for what you're getting. Folgers/Maxwell/Yuba etc. actually take the chaff(skin) that cooks off during the roasting process and grind it back into the bean product.

There's enough local coffee roasters around these days that you should be able to find a pound of elite level organic Guatemala/Mexico/Costa Rica roasted within the last 5 days at $10 a pop.

I've heard several things about freezing coffee, some say its not good because it absorbs odors from the freezer like box of baking soda would. Gonna have to look into this because I usually buy whole beans from costco. When you freeze your beans do you go straight from freezer to grinder or do you have to let them "thaw"

Didn't like at coffee at all growing up but within the last 2-3 years, I couldn't imagine life without it now

My everyday go to is coffee bean. Much better than Starbucks, imo

Bulletproof coffee is the groove

With the Ghee butter jumpoff

Best coffee of all time, energy levels amazing

Life is amazing

CA man charged with DUI after testing positive for caffeine
Joseph Schwab was pulled over by a police officer who thought he was driving erratically

Updated: 9:47 AM EST Dec 28, 2016
By Tom Miller, KCRA
FAIRFIELD, Calif. —
During an afternoon in August 2015 after a long day on the job, Joseph Schwab, 36, was heading home to Fairfield when an Alcohol Beverage Control agent pulled him over on I-680 near Gold Hill Road.

Agent Ott described seeing him “weaving in and out of traffic almost causing several collisions.” More seriously, she also believed he was under the influence of a drug.

“I was 100 percent confident that I was not under the influence of anything,” Schwab said.

Inside the car, Ott said she found a number of workout supplements, including powders. All of them were legal.

She conducted several field sobriety tests and found Schwab’s pupils were dilated.

“The driver seemed very amped up, very agitated, very combative, and she thought he was under the influence of something,” Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams said.

Ott arrested Schwab and took him to jail, where he agreed to a blood test. The results came back negative for cocaine, THC, opiates, methamphetamine, oxycodone and several other drugs.

However, there was one positive hit, caffeine.

“I didn't believe it,” said Stacy Barrett, Schwab’s attorney. “I actually consulted with the other attorneys in my office, to make sure that I wasn't missing something.”

Independent forensic toxicologist Edwin Smith said caffeine is technically a drug but is often overlooked because it isn’t typically associated with impaired driving.

Smith believes, if anything, the substance improves the ability of most drivers.

“Very few, if any of those are having problems functioning in a task like driving," Smith said. "Most are probably doing it as well, and potentially even better than they would do without it."

The district attorney is still moving forward with the DUI charge. She believes it was not caffeine, but some other drug not on the test that influenced Schwab. She admitted that a conviction won’t be easy.

“This is a case without a blood result, so it makes it a very difficult challenge to prove in court,” Abrams said.

Now 16 months later, the arrest is still hurting Schwab both financially and professionally.

“It looked like I was undependable and when you tell this kind of story to someone they naturally are not going to believe it,” Schwab said.

He and his attorney have filed a motion asking for the charges to be dismissed, insisting that driving while under the influence of caffeine is not a crime.

“I certainly hope that this isn't something that other drivers have to be concerned about,” Barrett said.

if it's a preworkout, they should test for 1,3 dimethylamylamine, amp citrate or one of the many nootropics available over the counter. if anyone has ever taken a super strong preworkout on the way to the gym, only to get stuck in traffic, you know how bad that sucks. i can easily see dude taking some of this and going into road rage mode

Been using a Keurig for the past few years out of convenience at home and work.

I use my aeropress every morning. Makes a great cup of coffee. Also grind my beans right before I make each cup. Look into burr grinders. They are supposed to produce the most even sized grinds, which is what you want. Avoid the cheap electric "coffee grinders". I just bought a $25 hand burr grinder off of amazon. Takes less than 60 seconds to grind enough beans for a cup. It really is unbelievable how much better the coffee tastes than a Keurig.
