Is Arizona really that bad?

All the dumb yet generic "attractive" (putting in quotes because they are not attractive at all to me but NTers would salivate over them) white girls from my high school that couldn't get into a good UC or Cal State school went to ASU. That's pretty much the case of most of California based on what I've heard from all my friends from LA and SD

Not saying everyone at ASU is dumb before anyone from there gets their feelings hurt. You can be smart and successful at any university or without going to college at all; just telling you what type of girls go there from California
Maybe this is why my cousin is bragging lol

Used to go WV all the time bc my pops was locked up there. He was located in Morgantown, WV. That place is one of the scariest places in America for a miniority. They are seriously stuck back in time. I remember around the age of 11 and me and moms stopping at a gas station and the store literally stopping. WV and the Appalachian mountains area are just not civilized enough for people of different back grounds or thoughts.
Man please. ITs not that bad bruh
Give it up little man, your troll game not strong enough yet.

Would you rather deal with an AZ summer or an NY winter?  I keep telling myself that the summers are pretty much the winter in AX, meaning you stay inside a lot, etc.
Being about an hour from flagstaff, we drive up for snow days and chill every winter. I go back home all the time, I'm fortunate I can so I'll pass on that shoveling I've done as a kid.

I'm a 5 hour drive from Disneyland or Vegas (1.5 hour fight) and I get to wear jeans and a sweater on Christmas. I'll take that!

In all my travels when it comes to weather and leisure I've learned you can have anything you want, but you can't have everything you want
I'm heading to the Snow Bowl in a few weeks, heard the snow is starting to pile in now. Flagstaff is always a fun time in the winter man
No disrespect but az basketball is soft, they don't play through any contact.

that I can agree with you on, too many fouls being called in our pickup games

I've lived out here for a year now (i'm black btw) and haven't seen any direct or indirect racism but then again i keep to myself and have been told i'm not approachable. My family, and I live in Scottsdale which is the burbs of Phoenix and pretty much hate it.  There is no color but tan (houses, rocks, buildings), no grass, no real trees and either old people or BRO's and BROETTE's (think Jersey Shore but with natural tans).

Phoenix is cool because there is diversity as far as people (Hispanic, some blacks, Asians, etc) and scenery (palm trees, grass, some trees) but the state as a whole has no culture whatsoever.  Coming from Detroit where there is a mixture of cultures and people, AZ is just lacking.  The heat in the summer is ridiculous and i mean 115 on some days BUT it only lasts from June-September and after that its beautiful.

Me and the lady already have a 5 year plan to get to California about an hour outside of LA but don't know where yet.

^^^^I don't think I have ever experienced 115 heat. I was in AZ in September and it was like high 80's and I spoke to a colleague that was out there and told him today would be nice swimming weather and he looked at me and said it was too cold. Haha. I guess that is like me saying it is too cold in SF when it is 50 degrees when in Chicago, it's like 34 right now.

Which September were you here that it was 80 and where? The 100s are just starting to leave in September, lol.

It was late September. Could have hit 90 that day. I was playing golf and got sunburn from it but it definitely wasn't a 100 degrees. I was told though days before, it was a 100 degrees. Maybe I got lucky.

The worst I've experienced was 120 and that was this past summer in July i believe, but you still had idiots out hiking in the desert, and with ONE bottle of water at that smh.  A few people died that day actually.

Where the OG AZ NTr's??

AZ NT Summits would be at Dan Majerles Bar in the basement

I remember I dropped info on the Diamond Dunk release on NT and cats drove from San Diego ... Like some dumbasses

In my unbiased opinion, I think it's a pretty good place to live. There are a lot of conservatives, but it's not like moving to Alabama or some **** like that. Gas is some of the cheapest in the country, and cost of living is low. Jobs market sucks, but other than that and the heat in the summer it's fine with me
damn son this is the weakest endorsement for a place i've ever seen. i can just imagine the commercial running...

"Come. Move to Arizona!

It's not as bad as Alabama...Gas is cheap (for when you need to get away)...The job market sucks and the summers are too hot."

I'm not saying I think it's a wack place, but I mean for saying it's a pretty good place to live in, if 1 and 2 are not Alabama and cheap gas...

Arizona Tourism Board isn't paying me enough to put that much more thought into it. Not being Alabama is reason enough to move anywhere IMO

I think its kinda of funny how alot of people in here are saying AZ is full of racists/racism. I was born and raised here (im 26) and ive never dealt with this blatant racism that people are pointing out. Im korean and mexican btw
laugh.gif

but I love it here. its got a little bit of everything. if your an outdoors person, plenty of options with hiking, camping, exploring etc. phx has a pretty good night life scene if youre into that, Tuscon has one of those big small town feels with non-stop authentic mexican food, and flagstaff is just flat out awesome in all aspects

as for the summers, theyre pretty brutal if your not used to them. 115 is pretty normal in the height of summer. i personally dont mind it at all, but then again idk how people live in minus degree weather

Born in Chicago, but grew up in Phoenix. I'm middle eastern. I love it. Great weather so I can play tennis. Women are bad. I've barely experienced any racism (maybe 2-3 times in the last 16 years). Food scene getting better little by little. It's clean. Low stress. Low cost of living. I'm currently living in Chicago again and I'd definitely rather be back in Phoenix. Chicago obviously has ten times more stuff to do and is a far better city, but the weather and taxes and traffic are miserable. Miss me with that. I plan on moving back in a couple years. If I can't be in LA, I'll move back
To phoenix.

Went to Arizona last April with my ex-girlfriend as she was raised out there and her father lives in PHX and mom is Flagstaff.

We stayed at an AirBnB in Scottsdale and it was really nice. Of course, it was just really hot. But living in Boston, the dry heat is so much better than that sticky humid feeling you get up here. When we were in PHX, we were by the stadium where the Suns play and there was an outdoor music festival that day. Good architecture but felt there could be more people walking around. The art museum there is good too.

Northern Arizona is a whole different animal! I always thought it was all desert but Flagstaff is beautiful and cold. I really liked the small town vibe but everything closed at 9 and everybody was in bed by 10. That was something I didn't like. But at least DQ has Orange Julius which I hadn't had in years! NAU has a fine campus as well.

Of course the culture is different from the Southwest and the Northeast where I come from and I saw a lot of young moms and wives. Everybody seems to want to start a family once they graduate high school.

Arizona is not bad but I really couldn't live there because there was absolutely no Asian food. Maybe in PHX but I was in Flagstaff most of the time as we went to see the Grand Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. Go to Horseshoe Bend people! If you're into Mexican food, this is your state as there seems to be a Mexican spot on every corner. Oh, and everybody has a dog.

Funny thing about the hospitality there. We were walking her mom's two dogs and this guy in a Prius just rolled up to us on the other side of the street and started talking about the dogs. When dude rolled up, I had my fists ready thinking this guy is trying to mess with us but he was just sincerely wanting to check out the dogs. That Northeast mentality. :smh:

Did I mention that I bought out the Del Taco store in the morning? Lol. It was like 8 in the morning and I bought over $35 worth of food. Lady told us to park so they could make the food. I literally ate one taco and gave the rest to the dogs.
