ALIEN-verse : Covenant (May 19, 2017) - Universe to Expand 2019

Whoever designed ALIEN needs an award. Even all these years later that design is timeless and menacing. Def ahead of its time

H.R. Giger, also helped design Sil from "Species". He has some Batman designs that were turned down as well.

The prologue made me happy. When they arrive and land the ship looks awesome.

I'm left wondering how the prologue connects to the story we've seen in the trailers. And if that is the same david android in both.

With the Alien and Predator reboots, are we gonna get an AVP reboot?!
:pimp: :nerd:
Put Sanaa Lathan in it again. :pimp:

Oh I have not seen AVP2 yet.

Sidenote - how do you all feel about the Freddy Vs Jason crossover?

As a film nerd/studies major I guess I will weigh.

While my hopes for Covenant  to be the action installment seem to have been dashed with the trailer's call backs to Alien, the first film in the franchise. Now, I certainly enjoy Scott's first foray into the world of the Xenomoporh, but Aliens  is the one that has the fondest place in my heart (and really despise James Cameron's work with a passion). Covenant seems to be the horror genre, and now I feel like not only has the sequence been tampered with ( but to be fair, it is Scott's to certainly tamper with) I am a bit confused now as to why revisit the genre when you really will have a difficult time one upping Alien.

I am excited for it certainly, but I am also staying very wary as I love the franchise a great deal and don't want to see it turn into a cash grab, which I feel Prometheus was a bit of. I get some of the disdain for the film since Scott himself said it would answer questions we have all been asking of the mythology for years, yet really just ended up leaving us with more damn questions than answers.
