ALIEN-verse : Covenant (May 19, 2017) - Universe to Expand 2019

I wouldn't say movie was "absolute trash" loved the AI fight and fassbenders performance were :pimp:

That flute scene though.... >D

looks like I'm in the minority has to have both liked prometheus and Alien Covenant, I'm just a casual fan though and barely even remember the Alien series.

Watched a little of the opening to Prometheus, liking the foreshadowing on certain things like how when addressing the crew Weyland talks about how David, not human , is like a son to him but he'll never know what the gifts of life, death and creation will truly mean. Knowing what i know gave me the creeps when they showed a shot of David during this.

Also when Dr. Shaw and the other one talk to theron's character she talks about how Weyland always wanted a "true believer" on board, so this would make Dr. Mahattan in covenant that?

Gonna be watching in small increments in spare time, hoping to find some great links between the two films.

I liked both also

I'm not a Alien fanboy or diehard though. They're probably the ones who will a problem with it.

^Everything in that first video seemed so obvious to me upon watching the film, except perhaps for the "Mommy" thing.

I'll also go on record as saying that I loved both Covenant and Prometheus, though i'm also not what you'd call a major fan of the franchise, though I have seen all of the films.

I'll probably go check it out next weekend.. but not liking how everyone pretty much agrees how obvious everything with David is

I haven't even seen the alien series yet and I thoroughly enjoyed both Prometheus and Covenant

Enjoyed the movie. What I didn't like was the flute scene(I understood the significance of the scene but still  )felt like something was missing from the movie & how the last 10-15 minutes of the movie was so predicatable. Overall I liked this movie more than Prometheus because I feel like they were able to touch on the science/story while keeping you entertained with murder and mayhem. I LOVED HOW GORY THIS MOVIE IS :pimp: :pimp: :smokin

That kiss scene was mad awkward

I wonder who will be the next tomboyish (yet slightly attractive in a weird way) female lead that falls for David's prowess

^ Shailene's already established

It'll be some random daughter of some famous actor/actress who's trying to get her career started + doesn't mind cutting off all her hair

I liked Prometheus. I liked Covenant, although I think they did ZERO character development for anyone in the cast except for David/Walter and Daniels.

I'm kinda over them mass killing off every cast though. It was less of a plot driven movie and more of a snuff film. I feel like they wasted Shaw.

Also, I'm not really into the retconning of the plot with David being a genocidal pretentious robot who outsmarts everyone. Also I find it hard to believe Shaw would have let herself get got by him. It sounds to me like Noomi Rapace just didn't feel like doing a sequel so they had to scramble and write her out.

Felt like Shaw was wasted man. She was supposed to be the center of attention for the sequel to Prometheus. Wish she had continued her role man. I remember that stitch/staple scene in Prometheus. With her thunder thighs and abs

Yeah I'm disappointed they got rid of her. I liked her character more than Daniels.

I kept expect her to pop up sometime during the film. ... well she did, just not how I was thinking :smh:

i really need to watch before i deep dive on it.. but i've read the synopsis and read and watched couple vids with spoilers

but this doesnt make sense to me after everything she knew about david from the previous film..

my biggest concern and what everyone speaks off, how obvious everything with david is.. and they still go down that round as if it's some sort of surprise.. why not just explore that from the beginning, he clearly was experimenting and being curious in the 1st film anyways

Lol this is one of the reasons why Prometheus > Covenant

In the prequel footage to the movie (that they released on Youtube early) Shaw rebuilds David and is kind to him and then lets herself get put in cryo sleep with him staying awake on board with a million canisters of the black ooze. Like, she knew the effery he just perpetuated on her whole crew in the last movie with the stuff. She was the one person that saw through him. But in this one she's suddenly naive, gullible, and foolish?

It makes no sense.

^ yea.. i mean i assumed it was her putting his head back on a body from the clip in something i saw

i assumed she would keep him as limited as possible after everything that went down last movie..

i actually caught a decent about of Prometheus yesterday on FX.. dude admits to poisoning her significant other, why the hell would she ever trust him again

their relationship was a 1 of need from both ends

David's role/character/reach/power throughout the film(s) I thought was truly fascinating. What a piece of work. He is the creator and also the alien in the end.

Man's creation was far more advanced, far more calculating, and beyond its creator.

The flute scene is the premise of the film and will be a classic for years to come. Fassbender is a man amongst men.

Walter :frown: :\

When I saw dude rescue Daniels and knocked David off her

I was hyped. Like "LETS ******* GOOOOOOO!!!!"

Even when he tried punching that protomorph and burned his hand off

Protomorphs*

Hated those things more than Xenomorphs. ******* expressionless faces until they show their teeth.
