Reboot? That would be a bad move just continue doing what they are doing. They need to build off Prometheus but I don't even know if enough people know about that story for them to. People know ALIEN

the funny thing is a lot of peopel crapped on Prometheus for not being "aliens" enough so they went back to the old formula on this one and now most are looking for more "prometheus"

People don't know what they want, the movie got aliens like we wanted and they cast people from Prometheus they are obviously gonna keep that part secret so as not to give away the whole thing.
I think what happens is they come across another engineer site, since the official synopsis is they go to planet and David is there rebuilt

Reboot what? The original Alien is an absolutely perfect movie. Aliens is a great sci-fi action film. There's nothing to reboot. Instead, just explore the universe.
That being said, I really don't have high hopes for this one. Too much revealed in the trailer and too many cliches.

Me too. So much so, I bought an airsoft M41A Pulse Rifle a few years ago. One of my favorite movie weapons.

How long until an Alien, Predator and Independance Day crossover? It would need to have Will Smith, Arnold and Sigourney Weaver teaming up together though.

People are idiots and I never understood that complaint. Prometheus was never billed as an Aliens film, so why be surprised when the titular aliens aren't a massive part of the film?
Film was great the way that it was.

I had zero problem with them moving away from aliens and focusing primarily on the engineers.. my problem was with the execution of the movie

Your not going to show 10-17 year olds the 1980's version of "Aliens" with Sigourney Weaver. You got to remake it with a totally new cast to get these millennial up to snuff with the classic franchise. I agree with for us (i'm 27 years old) The OG Alien's are classics.

If millenials like great movies then a reboot of Alien isn't needed. It's an amazing movie no matter what generation a person is from.

what did you expect? studios only see profit in alien horror, thats why Prometheus had so many rewrites.
keep in mind Prometheus came out before Interstellar. even though there have been some successful sci-fi imagination type movies in the past, many of them just become cult classics.
studios dont care about cult classics, they want profit.
i want to see Ridley Scott's original vision for Prometheus too and with this movie im prepared to be disappointed.

They should try to have a good movie and see if that will create profits. I dunno how much The Arrival made but it was very solid and made me happy that I had a good sci-fi movie to watch.

according to some supposed leaks David apparently kills all the engineers and Shaw with the black goo way before this movie even starts and basically it's a horror movie from the jump with the xenos hunting the Covenant crew.

Ridley Scott is going to be 80 years old and has been talking about introducing a 'new' monster for years. this is the chance for the studio to get what they want.

The irony of this being that the studio is like a real-life Weyland-Yutani. They want the monster(s), while decent storytelling and scripts be damned.
