Working on an album for the summer, dropped one 2 summers back that gotta alotta love around my way (harrisburg,pa). And being that I'm a student of the game, and I know alot of yall fancy yourselves to be students as well, what do yall think makes an album a classic in 2017? And what are some of the more recent classics (past 5-6 yrs) according to you?

Now I'm not these people nor do I know what they were thinking, but I'm pretty sure when guys NWA, or Outkast or Kendrick or even Kanye, when they were making their classic music I doubt they knew if it was gonna turn out that way.

They knew what they were making was hot and dope to them and they people but I don't think Nas knew Illmatic was gonna change the game. Even Kanye with all his **** talking didn't actually think people would be talking about College Dropout years after the fact.

Just make music that you can be proud of and the rest will follow if it's meant to be.

Great songs with near flawless arrangement in track listing , preferably skits and concept and message of each and every song of the album.

nothing was the same
if youre reading this its too late
the weeknds **** kissland/trilogy
kush and oj
cabin fever

recent classics to me obv kind of bias but i figured id answer that question

other stuff i cant remember rn maybe yg MKL also or migos yrn / rich gang the tour

I consider classics a tape/album that i can play without any skippable tracks except one like on kush and oj the demi lovato beat

There are no classic albums yet from this era. Classic in my opinion also means timeless. 2016 ain even over yet. We don't know what will stand the test of time.
