Most uncomfortable shoes you ever owned

I made the mistake of hooping in these. During the game I realized my big toes were hurting. Took my shoes off and the nails were black, a week later both nails fell off. Smh. This was 3 years ago and my left one still hasn't turned back normal.

F bron sig line.

I have a thesis to write about. Sorry to say this, but I'm happy I've found someone who can share this pain.

One day I was at the library and my friends hit me up to play ball. I was wearing these shoes so I decided why not. I'm literally dying after a game. Both my big toes are in so much pain. That toe area is super hard in that shoe. I keep playing for a few hours and the next day after waking up my two big toe nails are sore as hell. Gradually after a week my big toe nails are blacker than black. Toe sore for a week. After a few months my toe nails fall off and they grow back all disfigured.

Basically months later I'm at the library again and friends ask if I'm down to ball. I'm wearing my Kentucky pair again. I chalk up the first instance as an outlier since I've played light games in them before and not had this issue. Same thing happens and my toe nails turn black and fall off.

This is probably two years ago and my toe nails are still messed up, but they're looking better. I've had to double sock to play after this making my feet sweat like hell. My mom was convinced I had fungus and wasn't washing my damn feet properly. Others see my toes and think I'm diseased.

Still love how the shoe looked and they were super comfortable just walking around lol.

 I wanna see pics.

Going through the closet and found some old Flightposites from the mid 2000's, put them on and realized why they were at the bottom of my closet and why I didn't wear them anymore. Flightposites look great but they hurt ALOT (for me atleast), ended up selling them because of this but it got me wondering has anyone else tried to keep and rock a pair kicks that looked great even though they were uncomfortable.
Nah man, they take a really long time to break in. What you have to do is take out the laces and wear them, night and day feeling. Mine are still in good shape.
These

The first retro.

Not sure how the new ones feel
I agree. These felt like bricks. Currently on my project list because the sole separated but I'm in no rush to fix them

2009 space jams

2009 Space Jam Air Jordan 11
I think that's the winner.. I feel like I had to break my toes to fit in the shoe..
Mine are still DS, but idk man. I have 2010 Concords and I went a half size up with no issues. Quality on these on the other hand is a different story.

Foamposites are pretty uncomfortable to me now. I use to wear them all time.
I always thought you had to break in Foamposites, after the fourth wear they start to feel pretty normal
Takes more than that imo. I had foams from 2001 and 2002 and they hurt like hell for a long time, only when I broke them in good, they all of a sudden felt better (around 15-20 wears in)
The Cement 4s (with the Jumpman on the back) from a few years ago..Those things were awful to wear..Felt like I was wearing the cheapest pair of Payless Shoes ever made..
I agree, this retro was really stiff, I still have them and they are pretty much beaters now anyway
OG Playoff XIIs dug into my achilles something awful. Bled through a few socks...

Then some generic Nikes that kinda looked like the XVIs I got to ball in. Worst. Shoe. Ever. The toe cap was so flimsy it would bend and dig into my toes with every step.

Cosign Flightposites. Eggplants hurt my arches after a while but I still wear them. Too clean and durable

I remember, yeah OG XII's hurt my heel, even more so since I got my taxi's around Christmas and the cold weather did my foot no favors. Flightposites take a long time to break in as well, but when they are broken in they are really comfortable.
Interesting. Why is it some iterations of a sneaker can be uncomfortable while others feel great?
Gotta know your size, sometimes, especially now we are at a disadvantage of knowing when to go TTS, or go half size up/down. You have to be familiar with certain shoes to know when you can switch between the three. It comes with experience imo.
It took be a while to get used to these , but I didn't hate them
Whaaaaat? These are heavy but are still one of the most comfortable pairs I own. wouldn't recommend with no show socks though.

By far the worst LJ shoe
Idk, I copped the cutting jade XI on a whim and these are surprisingly comfty. Key is to not wear no show socks.
These might be the most comfortable shoes known to mankind. Maybe too comfy.
I agree, gotta tweak a few things to your liking for them to feel like what I describe as "feet"
i don't think KG wore those did he?

those were 2001 and he left nike for and1

i had these too

those were comfy as hell too, especially after you broke em in.

id consider buying a retro of those. missed the last ones.
By far one of the worst pairs I ever tried on my feet. They cut your heel something awful. They're tight and the zipper on these sucked, I have no idea how they were so popular when they released.

honorable mentions for me: Griffey 1's (I hardly wear this pair), Mars Blackmon AJ IV, and I hear the CDP XI's were bad. For me as a general rule, go a half size up and it's not super big on your foot and it gets rid of the pinky toe issue you may have. Also, no show socks may cause a lot of issues too, just have to see how a shoe rubs your foot while you're walking/playing in your shoe.

Them lebron 9's are a no go too. Straight gabbage on my feet.

starbury went kind of hard tho. he tried to expand his line, introduced some dress shoes.
...my boy copped too. was his going out shoes, which actually made sense. u hit up a spot in the city, you gonna have drinks be spilled, getting ya feet stepped on. its best to have some beaters. dress beaters that is. idk if he interviewed with them tho..

i got some lightly used ken griffey's in my closet. recently threw em on and they feel like platform trainers. they suck lol. may donate them to Haiti, let another zo shine. they need all the help they can get on the real)

Griffey 1's were mentioned a few times here, but Im guessing yall talking about the retros.
I remember loving the og's back in '96. I tried the retros that released in 2012 and they felt awful though.

The Griffey 1s from this year feel great in my opinion, to each his own though Ive seen that shoe posted too many times to think people are exaggerating

Wish I wouldve known that before purchase, I had the silver and the eggplants and they were beautiful but the pain was too much. I bet unlacing them were a pain in the *** though

^ you could change how you lace them. It's a pain because those laces are really long but it makes them more bearable to wear

Olympic 1s by far. The bottoms are so damn thing you might as well just walking barefoot

Jordan 9
Jordan 4
Air max griff 1

Smh.
Nike bussin heads n pulling the okeedoke by selling us trash.

thats been said a few times in here.....what was the problem with those??? were they that different than the other 11s??

I can only speak for myself but the actual fit of the CDP 11s to me were average, I had an issue with the materials and craftsmanship though

they were pretty stiff, it felt like i was walking on cardboard. i havent worn any recent retro 11 so i cant really compare them to those but the 2000 concords were more comfortable IMO. i wish i can wear them out but the last time i wore them in the snow, i wiped out like that dude in home alone :smh:

I didn't owned these but I played basketball in Chuck Taylor before.. :smh:
I remember my brother wanting to wear chucks to play pickup one day. He ended up sliding all over the court, idk what he was thinking lol
No way he actually did this, he should know better

I loved my Olympic 1s, worn them almost everyday in school. But yea I agree, the soles were thin as hell.

I haven't logged in in ages but after reading this thread and these two posts specifically, I just had to login and post. My brothers...we now share a bond forever because we made the mistake of playing ball in these things and we have some stank *** big toenails now. Good god, it's like you wrote my big toenails' eulogy. They were red as hell, looked like it was bleeding under the nail at first, then they just turn black and fall off after a while. Nastiness.

I'm mad ashamed to walk around without socks on when there are people around because of how nasty the toenails look now. They're better now after several years but damn, I used to have normal big toenails! Now, they've got the thickness of two credit cards and clang when you tap on them. :smh: Great looking shoe nonetheless, but to promote these as a basketball shoe?? The hell?

Yo, let's find all people who have balled in these, snap pics of our big toenails, send them to a lawyer and bring a lawsuit against Nike. No conspiracy, my self-confidence is shot now because I can't even take my socks off around people without looking around to make sure no one is looking.

I find this hilarious that I'm finding people with the same eccentric issue as me.

My toe nails are getting much better. They actually have healed up much better the past two months. They still don't look normal though. That probably will take multiple years. They have a tint of black and all these cracks in them. It's not a smooth nail. It just has a bunch of cracks in it that are white lines.

I had pics of it when it was really bad, but I deleted them. Wish I kept them, because they were hilariously disgusting. Sending them in group chats just to piss people off were great.

And the walking around without socks thing is hilarious. Whenever I was home, my mom would always comment on how disgusting my toenails were and she'd go into this rant about them. Got roasted pretty heavy by friends as well. People would always look at me funny like I chose my nails to be like that. Honestly, I looked at those nails in pride. They were battle wounds. Looked like I went to a few wars
