Yea when I first got back into NJPW, WH Park of Japanese Audio Wrestling (LAW Podcast Family) mentioned it and it stuck with me.

I still say it is a dumb transition of moves

Showed someone the Okada/Omega match.

She said the match was good but mentioned MANY times how weak the RainMaker move is.

I never even thought about it.

But that move IS weak looking compared to everything else that was done in that match

I live the shirt arm clothesline as a finisher..Very old school..And Okada's looks really effective..

The Rainmaker is a move that severely needs that Marvel vs Capcom SuperCombo special effect to really sell the move. That zoom out is a dope touch tho

The lariat is a goat finishing move in Japan, but Okada is for sure the most frail looking dude to use it as a finisher
