Legal famb - Joe Mixon tape

Please answer the following questions without mentioning Joe Mixon .

Should she have put her hands on him? Would this have happened if she had not put her hands on him? Did Joe Mixon pull back from hitting her the first time?

The hypothetical what if's that end up in threads like these are always so ignorant, so I'll throw some out there myself.

If it was your mom hitting a college football player like that in the face, would you be ok with that "self defense"? What about your grandmother? What about your sister at age 16?

Would you be ok with your mom or 16 year old sister out there slapping dudes?

Fortunately, my momb and grandmother aren't dumb enough to think they can step to another adult and there not be consequences.

They understand that being a woman doesn't absolve them from being a jerk. They don't get to float around with impunity just because they have a vagina.

I'd be mad at Joe Mixon, but I'd still ask my momb and grandma "da **** was going through your mind when you thought it would be a good idea to hit that man?"

She put her hands on him first and should have never done so.....but she posed no threat and what he did was not in self-defense. That was hard to watch.

Cats gotta stop thinking these women are incapable of stuff.

This is why we will never see Rousey vs a 230 lb dude.

:smh:

In this specific situation, she posed ZERO threat.

As I said before, she should have not put her hands on him....but his reaction was beyond OD.

They should at least be both charged with assault to be "fair". At a minimum she should have gotten a battery charge. I bet you if the tables were turned they'd both be charged.

Stating facts, save it.

It seems like some of you guys don't want us to give her a pass because she's a woman and I don't think people are giving her a pass. He's a football player from what I'm reading meaning he's probably been hit harder on the field. His battery broke her face and put her in the hospital. He could have just shoved her and bounced.

For the 100th time, NO ONE is excusing her for what she did...I think most, if not all, of the people in this thread are maintaining she should have NEVER put her hands on him in the first place.

Mixon's reaction wasn't "teaching" her, or anyone, anything. It was beyond OD.

And here we go w/ the NT extremes again...somehow equating what people are saying to being a pushover that accepts disrespect. Moronic.

lol "Teaching" as if she is gonna learn anything from this but she has the power to help change a mans entire career.

Why wasn't her reaction "beyond OD"?

And trust me... There are PLENTY of people excusing her.

B/C he didn't end up with a fractured orbital, jaw, and cheek bone.

That's why.

If we're at the point where we feel like gratuitous violence is the appropriate conduit to channel our racial frustrations then we'll never get anywhere.

Who are the people in this thread excusing her?

You want to "teach" her something? Step away and call the police. Especially since she posed no threat. She'll get an assault charge that will be on her record.

Now Mixon's name is tarnished and his draft stock is hurt due to his reaction. He had MUCH more to lose than she did. Unfortunately, these are the consequences.

Only for the women to be handed a slap on the wrist ....please you slap someone first you deserve what ever comes next .....miss me with the she posed no threat garbage by that logic if a chick spits in your face you shouldn't do anything either lmaooo

MUCH more, a point many seem to be glossing over. We're talking about an NFL-bound prospect here, a guy who is projected by PFF to be a 1st round pick in the '17 draft.

Like step back and assess the situation.

He's a big name, if he had called the cops, went to the press, made enough noise she may have gotten a slap on the wrist from the legal system, but her name and character would've been seriously tarnished.

Especially if she did indeed use slurs.

Think about what YOU have to lose by being reactionary.

She was absolutely NO threat in that situation and Mixon was in no danger what-so-ever.

Shoot...I'll entertain you for a second. I'm genuinely curious as to how you perceive that woman as a threat?

Y'all do realize that he's going to get ****** every which way going forward in his career right?

Special interest groups are going to pressure teams to not draft him.

Sponsors won't touch him.

When a team does draft him, people will call to boycott that team.

Every time he's a free agent his past will be a strike against him.

As if being a high-profile black athlete didn't already make cops go out of their way to **** with him, they'll make it a point to **** with him now. What happens if he's simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets jammed up in a BS case? How is he going to be employable again? One more strike and he's finished forever.

All because he didn't stop and think.

Y'all seen how they blackballed Ray Rice, and it's only b/c this dude is a KID and is coming out of college that he's being afforded an opportunity.

He's probably going to lose a significant amount of money b/c he'll likely fall out of the first round.

Kiss guaranteed money in future contracts goodbye, everything is likely going to be incentive based off the ******* RIP.

The moment he incurs a serious, career-threatening injury his team is going to drop him, RBs already have a very short shelf-life and teams don't really spend a lot of time and resources trying to rehab every "special talent" that walks through their doors because those guys are a dime a ******* dozen in todays NFL. Early round guys of today are another team's practice squad fodder tomorrow. How y'all think they'll do ol' Joe Mix if he suffers a ruptured patellar tendon? You think they'll spend the time they gave Vic Cruz or Jimmy Graham to rehab him? **** naw.

Y'all aren't thinking, just like he wasn't.

Rice got blackballed because he threw the owner under the bus.

There's no denying that he lost money due to the issue but players with issues get drafted every year if the talent is there.

Players with issues get drafted every year sure, how many of them players have their dirt on tape?

That seems to be the common denominator when it comes to this level of public backlash.

Y'all know Larry Fitzgerald and Terrell Suggs both have allegedly assaulted their significant others right? In both instances it was largely glossed over by the media.

Don't believe me? Okay...

What do you think would've happened to both these individuals had there been a video?

And contrary to what you think it's not simply that Rice threw Bisciotti under the bus that he got blackballed.

It's that he would not be worth the PR hit for a team, he was already on the decline when he got in trouble and such production can be found w/o incurring a negative PR hit.
