Ice Cube To Start 3 on 3 Basketball League

If they tour, who is going to pay for all of the traveling and lodging?

most likely a person or organization that provides funds for a project or activity carried out by another.

Is that a diss? Or a praise?

Definitely praise....his game is already streetball based, he is an all time great, freshly inducted in the Hall and still relevant with the younger crowd....people will watch just to see who is the1st victim of the crossover... also say what you want about him but AI just doesn't do stuff just to do it. For the most part he low key. I say that to say he must've seen a clear vision for what Cube is trying to do.

Nah he's gotten plenty of shine being newly inducted & to give credit where it's due Reebok has done a great job with his shoe line and promoting it. Not the biggest AI fan but for the most part he's been all over the last year & a half

I feel you on all point, AI is definitely an asset to this project. I honestly want to see the whole '96 draft in there making noise, kobe included.

he was in a damb ghostbusters commercial but he can't help out his mans cube an em tho?

He's very conscious of his "legacy" & things that may potentially tarnish it. Ray Allen is a long shot also but more likely than Kobe

Yeah, big long shot. Probably feels he's too good to be connected to this project.

Funny though, Kobe was the poster child for washed up. Now he was really going 10/56 in games

Steve Nash, both Jason Williams ( black & white ), Steve Francis, T-Mac, Lamar Odom, Baron Davis, Nate Robinson, Spreewell, Penny, Gary Payton, Sharif Abdur are a few of the big names I would say are realistic.

That would make things very interesting. Not sure if they are restricting it to just former NBA players. Think they are but not 100 percent sure

Crawford about to jump in this as soon as he retires

If they tour through big cities and each city gets 1 night, i'm sure they can sellout small gyms every year.

Now is that going to be enough to keep this league alive? Are the players gonna get tired of this? We'll see.

Cube said they would play on friday nights. So the "league" pays for what? Round trip ticket + a couple of nights at the hotel max (per game)

I believe Cube has become a smart buisiness dude and wouldn't announce this thing without crushing some numbers. It could happen. And first season will be a success just out of customer curiosity. Long term potential? Not sure about it.

I only read the first few posts and it's been so negative. I guess that's NT for ya. I like the idea and think it's cool giving recent retired players an outlet.

@jjs136 when I 1st heard about it a month or so ago I was thinking it would take a while to get things going. Cube was on Mike & Mike yesterday promoting it. He's got a movie coming out in Feb. & they did not talk about it. Just the 3 on 3. That was very telling
