Anybody own newer 300/Charger?

I rode in a 300S last week for an uber ride and now I'm seriously considering buying a used 2015 or leftover 2016. Just the V6 though, don't need the hemi. I would prefer better mpg. Found this one on Craigslist that I'm going to negotiate for:

http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/5917569730.html

da hemi has better mpg cuz of cylinder deactivation....and it keeps a higher resell.
Can you hemi owners chime in here, how much mpg are you getting?

Got a '14 Blacktop RT..obv, hemi

MPG sucks. I'm guessing around 15/16 MPG for city driving.

Love the car, but when I drive it on the regular, I feel like I'm at the gas station 2x per week.

Gonna be the same deal when I get rid of the charger and get a Jeep Wrangler
Is da cylinder deactivation saving you a lot of gas?

I have a 2016 Charger Hellcat that I bought with 4 miles on the odometer in July. Love the ride and its so smooth. Really dont know theres 707 hp under the hood until you romp on it. Love the fit and finish of it.

I had 4 Jeep Grand Cherokees (all purchased new) before with the last 2 being SRT's (2010 and 2015 respectively) and to me it is night and day how these cars were assembled. I know its not the same plant as the Chargers but its like a different car company made it.

I guess its because the Jefferson plant cranks out so many Grand Cherokees they have to rush but the quality is no where near my Hellcats fit and finish.

Deals on leftover Hellcats and non Hellcat chargers can be found if you look. Heard some people get as low as 63k for a brand new one.

And if you dont want a Hellcat, Scatpacks and regular 5.7 hemi leftover chargers have deals out as well. Just have to do some searching!

Good luck!

Dealership about 40 miles from me was clearing out charger scat packs for a little over 30k

I find that really hard to believe

I could 2016s moving like that towards the end of the year in/near detroit.

Not that much...It's usually on ECO when I'm cruising on the highway. City is rough.

I've owned every engine in Dodge's line up except the Hellcat and my mixed mpg was about 19mpg in all of them from the v6 to the 392

I don't know man I literally spent 3 months at the end of 2015 trying to get a good deal on that exact car. I literally did a nationwide search. Emailed over 60 dealerships and never got close to that price.

Now maybe they made waaay more 2016s than 2015s but a little over 30k is 10K off msrp probably more.

I'm on a few different Charger forums and no one has mentioned a purchase price close to that for a new one

At the end of the year though who knows

I drive a 2015 300. Got mine with 18k miles on it, one owner and it was only driven for 9 months. Saved $10k off what it would've cost new.

Love this car. The tech is top notch and can hold its own vs luxury rides. (I've driven a loaded 2016 Mercedes C class before so I'm comparing to their user interface/tech)

Here's mine.

That's clean, bro.

Yeah, I'd take a Hemi if it was available at the right price but I'm not searching for one. I drove a base 6 cylinder charger 3 years ago and it was plenty fast, was doing 100 w/o even thinking about it.

More interested in finding one with Navi and the dual panel Sunroof.

Mine has the big sunroof, but you can't tell in those pics. For me, the V6 is perfect. Avg about 23mpg and I'm in heavy traffic two hours a day.

They were base scat packs, had the cloth seats. They had 3 of them left over from 2016

What more features could you get though outside of a bigger engine? Mine is loaded. Leather. Heated seats. Dual power seats. Sun roof. Digital displays. Touch screen.

Those older 300s are way behind the curve with their interior.

yeah u right, da S is loaded base model.

but getting a bigger engine also gives better tires, and better suspension (depending on da engine, u get electronically adjustable dampers or single option sport dampers) and bigger brakes.

I don't think he knows what he's talking about. You get the exact same features with da hemi or the 6.

not quite.

and depending on your preference, u can sacrifice getting a better interior, for better performance gettin pre-refreshed 2nd gen 300 with a 6.4 hemi (which they no longer offer in da 300) with either da adjustable suspension, or da "CORE" SRT (what they called it when SRT waa its own line) with fabric seats and da single sport suspension.

see me?

Nah he ain't lying. I know 2 dudes that copped around nov-dec brand new around 35. I'm lowkey mad if the lease was up on my ram I would've copped.

And I get like 15 mpg, I'm not 100% sure but I'm at the gas station often.

 I see nobody is messing with eco mode on modern cars. Can't blame you, give up too much performance.

Yeah, not looking to buy a 5 year old SRT8 that someone has been driving like a bat outta hell. It sounds cool, but from a practical standpoint, it ain't really worth it at this point in my life.

Do you get like an extra 1mpg or more?

35K for a base model I believe, I thought my dude was saying they were going for 31ish

Also I checked my average mpg for the first time in a while and it's 17.8

It's probably down to 11-13 in the city. I took the mufflers off and I run straight pipes in their place and I think it took a dip since then
