Golovkin might feel like his power slips if he cuts weight. Or he'd rather knock out bigger dudes because it's more of a challenge?
Turning pro in Germany and wanting to fight Sturm, and Abraham probably had a lot to do with it.

Lance's article clarified that it's going to be two 8 man tournaments in separate weight divisions with 50M funding the whole project.

No 50M grand prize.

I remember GGG saying that his German promoter did not push him as much as the other fighters, and he specified Sturm. Then he told stories of his former trainer signing him up for tournaments that he suspects his trainer got money under that table for. Now he is under some strange deal with K2, in which Klitschko doesn't even associate with him. Along with getting robbed in the Olympics and taking longer to break out than his contemporaries like Bute and Dirrell. It doesn't appear obvious because he is still undefeated, but his career has been poorly managed.

Makes sense. Plenty of other fighters have had huge problems with their German promoters. Look at all the Cubans that defected there after being lured by promoters that didn't really get them far.

I don't think the Klitschko's are all that involved in K2.  Even a guy like Usyk who is Ukrainian as well, is getting promoted soley by Tom basically.

Maybe Wlad will when he retires, but Vitali seems to be more focused on politics at the moment.

Mayweather vs McGregor is a joke. Something is telling me that Floyd is using McGregor's name to build hype among fans, then he's gonna pull a last minute switch-a-roo and rematch Pacquiao for more $$$.

But I see the logic in a Floyd-Connor bout. It would bring the casual boxing fans and UFC fans together in one room.

If Thurman (WBA & WBC) fights the winner of Spence-Brook (IBF) to unify 3 belts. Pacquiao (WBO) can fight the winner of that bout and become the undisputed lineal WW champ. If a 39-year old Pacman accomplishes this mountainous feat within a year and a half, Pac could once again be #1 P4P.

At that point, if it were to happen, I can see Floyd giving Pac a rematch because the Pac Hype would once again be at an all-time high.

That's the only way I see Floyd-Pac 2 happening. Pac has to once again win the fans with big-time thrilling wins.

floyd dominated pac so no i dont want to see a rematch... and he needs to stay retired... he only wants to fight connor because he knows he will get paid very well for that fight and it will be an easy win... i dont want to see that either but it would be entertaining to see connor get beat up
