never knew pics leaked of the colette x undefeated collaboration..

imo, pass on everything that's been leaked so far. im trying to cut back on personal purchases this year and none of those are "must haves". me being the kith follower that i am, i'll probably scoop up the kith collab but thats really it so far.

Yea, honestly doesn't feel very inspired.

Supposedly, "the two styles reflect the dichotomy of Paris and Los Angeles, two epicenters of distinct fashion."  Whatever that means ...

You had to figure that not every collab was going to be a coveted silhouette or CW but this doesn't feel like homerun out of the gate. More of a bunt if I'm being nice and a strikeout if I'm being honest.

I think it's a good idea to start with two classic silhouettes rather than just pumping out hyped models like UBs and NMDs. I'm not overwhelmed by the cw on that EQT but the Campus looks understated but beautiful. It might be a bit too similar to my HAL x Reebok NPC UK for me to actually buy it but I'm still on the fence.

I also like the SNS UB but that will probably be a pain to get.

I don't think my gripe is with the silhouette but moreso the CW treatment. The campus is clean but it doesn't scream classic when the navy stan smith looks so similar.

I feel like they could've done something like an ocean camo on the EQT. Would hit on Colette colour scheme with Undefeated camo/military design cues

Fully agree. I have no problem with those silos, just that these collabs don't seem that inspired.

The consortium tour started off with a bang with the Kith Dooms (admittedly ended up being kinda bricks, but still..) and then the NK NMDs. Sure a lot of people didn't necessarily like either of those, but they were a lot more interesting to me.

It all comes down to what you prefer, I guess. I definitely see your point. With the amounts of collabs that the different brands have been releasing each week during the last two or three years it's become much harder for a release to really stand out. To me, something like the RF Dooms or the NK NMDs, while being an original model or design with a cool idea, is just not as appealing as something more understated.

Both my HAL x Reebok NPC (which is a comparable silhouette in almost the same cw) and my Highsnobiety campus get a lot of wear from me because they're such clean designs that are well executed and basically go with any outfit. I've been trying to be more reasonable in my sneaker spending for a while now, so it's perfectly possible I won't get the Colette x Undftd collab. I just have too many pairs that look similar in one way or another. But I still think in pictures they look like a simple, classic silhouette with a wearable cw and some really nice design details you need to look closely for whicht to me make a great collab.

But I reckon the Consortium exchange will provide for different tastes, just like the Consortium tour did. With 24 pairs being released there will surely be two or three weird models in there (like the Seeulater which many liked but personally I wouldn't wear in a million years unless I went glacier hiking...

), some classic silhouettes from different areas (runner, tennis shoe, basketball shoe...), some more hyped models like the NMD or UB and some less popular new models Adidas wants to be included to promote them. Kith will probably pick one extremely hyped model and one weird outsider or a forgotten classic with some stupid changes because that's what RF does.

I hear ya.

One of my favourite Consortium collabs (I don't think it was part of the World Tour) was Packer Shoes NMD. Full disclosure, I think the NMD is a little overrated and it isn't in my top 5 Adidas models but the CW to me was unique and fresh.

Yes it's loud and the retro styling isn't as wearable or accessible as some of the more understated designs out there but it felt like a homerun to me. It hit on the fact that the NMD is inspired by retro models and dressed in a way that the NMD could have looked if it existed in the 80s/90s. I think the NK NMD accomplished a similar feeling with the tie-dye look.

I actually love my HS Campus as well. They really gave it a premium touch with the glove leather liner and its one of the few quieter collabs that I adore.

Maybe its the goal to generate hype or the fear of not generating enough that might be resulting in alot of collabs falling flat on their face.

Looks like they hid some boost in that superstar
It seems as if they also hid a good-looking shoe in that superstar. I never would have thought that you could make something as simple as "black and white Superstar" look so unappealing.
