Adopted a cat last night. Vol. Can't find him

What's up NT I adopted a cat last night for my daughter from the ASPCA but the problem is I can't find him. I have a 2 bedroom condo with only one door in and out, we went to bed last night and he was in his comfort corner in the living room laying on his brand new bed. I wake up to and do my usual routine before I head out the door and I notice he used his litter box and ate his food. I come back home and homie is nowhere to be found. Looked everywhere (closets, shelves, daughters toy box) and no luck. We've been looking for the past couple hours and no luck. Any suggestions?

He was.

ASPCA said he was stranded about 6 months ago

He matched up with us from the personality test that's why we took him.

Bout to put some fresh food down and see if he pops out

Food will help. He has to warm up to the family and start trusting yall first, expect him to hide for a while. He's likely hiding or resting near a heat source/vent.
