What reason would a Caucasian UberEats Driver refuse to deliver to a Predominately Black neighborhoo

So I place an UberEats order about an hour and a half ago, keep in mind I've used the service well over 10 times (maybe close to 20).

So I wait an close to an hour for my meal, and then the UberEats driver calls me saying "hey I`m at a church parking lot, meet me for your food"

I state "I didn't pay to get my food at a church, I paid to have it delivered to my home"

The driver then states "I`m not going down there"

I say "Thank you" and the driver abruptly hangs up then cancels the order.

So why is the Uber driver afraid to do their job?

Majority of my drivers have been women who had no problem doing the job they signed up for, so why is a caucasian male afraid to do the same?

What is there to be scared of?

Why waste the customers time even accepting the delivery? Don't drivers have the ability to see where they are delivering to before hand? Why would you accept a delivery to a side of town you fear?

Pizza chain delivery drivers are told the same thing if they dont feel safe. Crazys nowadays do stuff at churchs, what makes you think everyone gonna feel safe in the hood breh

Why sign up to do a job if you are afraid? especially being that Uber gives drivers the option to accept a delivery or not?

If you requested a Uber ride home and they say "nah bro I`m dropping you off down the street" do you think that is ok?

You're essentially saying not everyone deserves to use a service because of where they live.

That driver is stupid ! Considering that he does get to see address before hand, you waiting an hour and then suggesting you come to him. I would have driven there and jacked that food, call in and say I never got it delivered.

Is the area that bad though, bad enough that it dramatically changes as you drive in?

I call customer service which is obviously outsourced, so it was like talking to a brick wall trying to explain a suspected situation involving racial/class discrimination.

Uber Facebook page or private message, someone will respond.

Get that bread and get out the hood and you will have your food, papi chulo

On a serious note, don't let this slide. I don't condone rattin but take it as far as possible to expose that clown. Racist prick.

My buddy was a manager at papa johns heard so many stories of ppl gettin robbed and ****. All drivers are told if it looks suspecious then don't go there. Its not about where you live, you don't know what the scenario looked like when he arrived

It's funny I need to get out the hood, but when caucasians move to the same hoods now the hood is "desirable".

Damn shame black folks cant even try to rebuild our communities. Guess just further reason why we need to seek alternative solutions to how we do business in America.

Thats cool and all but this is Uber, you have the option to see addresses before you even accept the delivery. If you are scared of neighborhoods you can easily look up the address before accepting the service.

Like I said before what if this was their Taxi service, now what? They can just say "nah I`m not taking you home"?

And Uber drivers do not carry cash because they do not take your payment, so robbery is a non factor, especially being that the Driver can view my user history.

Exactly, dude can literally see my rider and delivery history. Why would I spend well over 1k with Uber then decide tonight is the night I want to do a jack move?

It may not have been you specifically. Maybe he saw something outside on the way there that spooked him
