Anybody work at the POST OFFICE.. come in !

I've been a city carrier for a lil over 18 years. It's grueling physically and mentally. Day after day you climb that mountain and when your done your exhausted. Then you get to do it again tomorrow at the same rate speed and time or else. It takes a toll on you. It's unlike any other job out there. I am stuck tho for the rest of my career. If I could go back in time I would have done something different. Just my opinion. You may start out liking it and say I can do this but trust me after be it 3 months, 3 years, or whatever it will indeed get to you.
6 months I already feel it. I turned down two jobs to become a CCA, thinking this could be my career opportunity. I regret it every day. It's affecting my well being.

If it's affecting your well-being, whether mental or physical, why not quit? Life just seems too short to suffer man.

This American lifestyle is crazy. Definitely not conducive to "carpe diem."

I've been in a similar situation for like 1.5 years. I'm desperate to find something I love that I can also make a job out of.

The more and more I experience life, I feel like Christopher McCandless on some Into the Wild steez. I'm simply not happy with the (lack of) values and disparity in this country. Trump is like the cherry on top.

Physical, emotional, mental, I am not the same person. I can't quit until I find another job. I have bills and rent, no fluff money at the moment. Ol lady and I are trying to move because of the female dog that lives above us is too ignorant to deal with. We found a place to move to its going to be $375 more a month. Quitting is not an option right now. Unless she gets a $15 raise soon (not likely to happen) I am not able to get by on anything less than I am making now.

I hope everything works out for you. It's never easy feeling locked into a job you dislike. I know from personal experience.

I had a county job, by far the easiest work I ever did. I literally worked maybe 2 hrs a day and even would be at home getting paid half the time. Everything was gravy til they slashed our pay and the work load got heavy for a while. Walked away and shortly after they signed contracts to make more than they did when everything was sweet. Everything worked out Cuz i ended up getting a promotion where I'm at now and make far more and the job is a piece of cake.

Still @ the county???

I quit because I didn't see myself happy, they said I probably wouldn't be off till feb 8 ugly 6:30 pm till 5 am or 7am, I reflected back on the past two months how tired I was how it consumed my life and said to myself if I go to work today 3 months from now I'll still be here...the pay is good tho at least for sure 1200-1500 two weeks but u spend half your day there the drive there and home, shower, eat sleep go back to work that can be your day multiple days in a row

I'm currently a supervisor here. I started off as a CCA 3 years ago. The job is what YOU make it. You have a union that will fight for you until the end. I endured the long days, bad weather(Northeast), pretty much anything you can think of. There was only 1 time I thought about quitting, and that was after I made regular. Just listen to your superiors and if you feel that you're being overworked or something just doesn't seem safe, talk to the union. I don't treat any of the employees like a "body." I speak to everyone of them as a person and understand we all have stuff going on at home. I can answer any questions via DM

Exactly. It's a crap job. As soon as you get home. (Whenever that is), Your body is so worn n' torn that you'll fall asleep as soon as you sit down or lay down. Next thing you know, it's time to get up again and stuff your mail truck with tons of crap packages and mail. walk another 12 miles with 50 lbs of junk on your shoulder. No way. God bless you, OP. Your going to need the armor of Jesus Christ to withstand this job.

Just from reading through this thread, turning down that CCA position was one of the smarter things I've done. More power to you my man.

2g paycheck isn't good if you're working 12 hours a day 7 days a week.

You'll want to blow your brains out in two months or less.

I quit again lol they keep hiring me

The only thing I'll agree with it's a good seasonal job if u are in school and want to make a couple racks the best part is knowing there's an end date lol
